And do we categorically know it wasn’t self defence?

As per my bolding, you’re obviously trigger happy when it comes to sacking people with no compassion so I’ll leave it there with you if that’s OK.
Utter codswallop. Or are you one of these special people who believes that the rules don't apply to you? To accuse someone of what you have written has a word: libel.
Eh?!

Indeed! This place is mental sometimes.

I've been to VMax once, at Bruntingthorpe in 2012. It was a fun day - quite a few people in RS4s with meth injection doing runs with a probe in the exhaust and the tuner in the passenger seat with a laptop, and then some other cars that were 200mph capable from new.

I chatted to the guys from Evolve about their exhaust for a V10 M5 - totally straightforward guys, obviously using the event to showcase their work, but nothing chavy or dodgy looking about them at all.

I have zero idea who DMO or Ricky are, and who they represent, but the only comment I can make is that the use of VMax by tuners to show what they can do seems to have escalated massively in the past 8 years. Not sure the event has the same ethos as it did when I went.
Iv never have any dealings with evolve but the boss, Imram?, makes some good videos going into their mods etc and explaining stuff which I think are actually quite good and he himself seems a decent guy.

They were on PetrolPed the other week, came across as a decent company, I'm sure they don't need this type of association.

You are aware that in order for me to commit libel, then I must have damaged his reputation by a false statement?
To do so, I must be aware of what his company is or even who he is? Talk about codswallop......

Instantly sacking someone a month into a pandemic because they put the company’s name on social media is harsh. It’s my opinion, and it’s not false.

Libel. Ha, what a wally.
1) You are honestly saying that you made a correct statement by claiming they have 'no compassion' and are 'trigger happy' all because you think they can't be identified? What about the people that know them on here? Do you honestly believe that someone wouldn't go through a correct and proper legal process to terminate employment?
2) It seems that you are now deflecting away the question of do you think rules don't apply to you? It seems that judging from the first answer and the follow-up that do you.
3) Name calling. About what I would expect.

The first part of question number 1 doesn’t really make any sense... not being compassionate or trigger happy has nothing to do with the fact they can’t be identified, no.

Regarding the second part of question 1, I’m not sure where you’ve got your wires crossed but I have not made any statement suggesting that the proper process wasn’t followed. I’m merely stating that it seems harsh to sack someone for something so minor, amidst a pandemic. I never said it was unfair dismissal, or that the correct process wasn’t followed, I’m just saying I think it was harsh.

Regarding number 2, apologies for not answering your original question, unsurprisingly I was taken aback when you claimed I was being libellous!

To answer your question, of course I believe the rules apply to me. Where have I said they do not? I don’t really know what you’re asking. My original point was everyone is on here making judgements and calling for people’s heads after watching a mere moment of video footage from a whole day’s event.

Regarding point 3, well... don’t act like one then! smile

I left it vague on purpose. I am far from trigger happy but when somebody compares your companies actions to murder and names the directors s on social media you can’t expect to keep your job.

As I’m such a monster explain why I gave all my employees a 5% pay rise in April? And let this employee have full bonuses whilst only working 9-4 because has kids at school. I didn’t have to do any of it. All whilst going into a recession and lockdown.

Oh and whilst we are at it in the disciplinary my mother (other Director) was called a fking retard. By your justification as provoked I could have walked round my desk and smashed him in the face? But as I’m an adult I just politely ended the meeting sent them home and notified them of there dismissal by letter.

I apologise everyone but I won’t be called out as an unsympathetic employer when I really do try to be nice to everyone.

P.s I wouldn’t be worried about libel either laugh

As always, context is everything. Had you originally mentioned this then obviously I wouldn’t have thought it was a harsh decision. smile

Obviously this wasn’t mentioned either.

Nor was this!

You really didn’t have to explain yourself.

I maintain, if you go around on forums saying “I sacked someone for putting my company’s name on social media” then it will come across as harsh.

If you instead put “I sacked someone for putting my company’s name on social media in a defamatory context” then it would not be considered harsh.

Sound more like it was causing a hullabaloo than libel as far as my knowledge of the law goes.

Indeed. I do fear for this place when you can no longer be allowed to have an opinion before you’re called libellous! frown

I think that's exactly what happened at Vmax.

There was violence and they were representing.
