SSC Tuatara Top Speed run apparently faked?
Discussion
More evidence of shadyness, they've applied a blur to the speedo but you can see that the number starts with a 2XXmph rather than the supposed 316mph at that time. Amusingly if you watch the SSC TG vid towards the end your can see the blur goes away momentarily when the drivers hand passes in front, again the speeds don't match.

I originally gave SSC the benefit of the doubt that the footage was somehow mixed up. But things are looking more suspect and they've blocked some accounts on IG that have called out the doctored footage.
Even @speedy_jeff, a Koenigsegg owner who was physically there on the day and saw Oliver James Webb doing the runs, has said the video 100% does not show the 331mph run.

You do seem to be quite invested in this, do you work for the competition or something? I would be VERY suprised if they faked it given the amount of people and equipment that witnessed it.
Not referring to this one but I've seen figures intially claimed as fact but when the dust settles it was not a fact.I am certain that even this car was not the bog standard one they intend to sell and it was hyped up at the least.
looks at VW and MB, emissions
Please don't just accpet what is published these days, think about it.

for me it looks like the wrong video uploaded, there were 3 runs after all.
This is the logical explanation. If we give SSC the benefit of the doubt, they just uploaded the wrong run. Also it would explain why the car seemed to have a lot more in the tank. In the video, it looks like it could've gone to 350mph!
In the video, it's definitely not doing the numbers the telemetry shows.
The whole thing seems petty, but this is a world record we're talking about and in this day, people will believe anything social media tells them.

The 'fake' footage is starting to blow up on the internet now. SSC will have to address it sooner or later. You can't make a fake video and tell the world you've got the fastest car.
Buddy Wyrick is the guy who's been producing and editing all the footage of the SSC including the top speed run is releasing an upcoming film which will be 'exclusively' shown on his new app - https://www.thedrivenapp.com/
Something seems fishy about the whole thing.

Olly Webb has replied to a Insta post I saw but added nothing to explain the discrepancies. Buddy Wyrick has his own controversies in the past borrowing money from YTers and not paying it back... I wish! Just intrigued that a company could try to hoodwink so many people... And the fact that simple observation can prove the falseness of it. Its really high stakes as if it is fake, that's the end of the brand pretty much. -Z- said:

And yeah they're trying to promote some new app on the back of this.

What was the old record? As 330 mph seems quite fast to me ,
the record is 316, it is average of 2 runs, there were 3 in total.Uppy-downy road
Clearly a hill
Too early for me to get on the conspiracy bandwagon but SSC have form for "sorta kinda maybe" record attempts instead of actual record attempts. Perhaps Shelby Jr is one of those people who is mortified about the prospect of not being seen to win at everything? I genuinely hope it turns out to be a genuine record as it would be good to have more competition in the fastest road legal / production car record.
