Nice Fiesta OP. My mum learned to drive in a white Mk1.

I learned to drive in one of those in the 80s. Great little cars!

Jammy git, I only had a 1.1L, although it did gain the S dash and rear anti-roll bar.

That looks great. thumbup

My Mum only ever had one a new car, a Midnight Blue Fiesta 1.1S that was registered on 2 January 1979. I have many happy memories of APG12T - I used to borrow it quite often!

My Mums red Fiesta Super Sport KMT 424W, with my 3 Litre S, @ Chingford, in circa April 86.
Loved that Fiesta ! Had more “ late night dices “ in that car, than any of my 3 Litre Capris !! Everyone wanted to race you.
And in mid 86, we also bought my then g / f, a scruffy, silver Super Sport, which had been in a light front end shunt, for circa £1,700, from somewhere in west London.

Great! My second car was a one-elderly-owner facelift (black bumpers, no chrome) 1.3GL in HAB - SMP25Y, then later had the use of a 1.3S in yellow (also known to another PHer) RPV2W, then later again a 1.3 Supersport (can't remember the reg but the car is long gone). The latter was one of the most fun B/C-road cars I've ever had.

Mum had a yellow 1.3S in the late 70s too (XUU666T I think?).

So lots of love here!

That must have taken some work. It does look lowered and I fancy the wheels are a bit wider than standard, anything else changed?. Its a good look.

I Have a soft spot for them.

Bought in 1989, with 21K miles (previous owner took 18months to do the initial 1500 miles free warranty check !!)

Pictures below on the day I sold it in 1992 @ 170K miles. It was immaculate

Some great times and journeys in that car.

Saw it in a car park about 3yrs later. Banger money by then and it was trashed. Wish I hadn't seen it.....

Now likely a washing machine or fridge somewhere in Asia

OP. Your car looks lovely

Omg my first car was a 950cc b reg fiesta similar to the ops.
Car cost £400, cost my £600 to insure it.
It did 0 to 50 in 2 minutes, wouldn’t hit 60 at all. Had pretty much no brakes, handling was down right scary. But tell you what it was the best feeling in the world driving it biggrin. I eventually crashed it into a roundabout but hey a bit bodge and spray paint and it was good to go again!

2nd car was 1.4l escort, it felt like a rocket ship after the fiesta biggrin

Nice to see a few out there and fond memories.

This car was something very similar that slipped through my hands years ago, so good now to have ownership of.

As for modifications, coilovers and stainless exhaust

Love it. This has more interest to me than any supercar could.

I had a 950 Popular in around 1992. Paid £250 for it as a stop gap between Orions at the time. Plastic seats, no headrests or rear wash wipe! A few years later I got a MK1 XR2, wish I still had it. I saw it at a car show last year and have kept in touch with the current owner.

Would love another Mk1 at one point. Look after her!

Apart from the dropped suspension and low profiles on wider steelies?

Looks lovely, always had a soft spot for the Mk1 XR2 even before I learned to drive in a 950L. A few years I had to move a dozen ex-rental Mk2 1.1Pops and thought the first one was hateful so the second one got floored and ragged and then I remembered why I loved the Fiesta so much. biggrin
