Exterior "styling" is pretty lazy (imo there hasn't been a good looking S since the W220), but I guess this car is all about the interior, and that looks like a nice place to be.

Let's talk about the seat buckles.

Really no V8 for the European market? Do they reckon that the top execs will be happy driven around in a six cylinder hybrid, as opposed to a BMW, Rolls or S8?

I know that the Merc S class is a show case for new tech, but is that the first toaster in pic 11?

6500k premium, does that inc dynamic seats?
It doesn't say dynamic seats specifically, but it encompasses the "memory package" for the seats with 4-way lumbar support. I expect that's effectively what dynamic seats used to be.

Yep tell me about it. When our CEO gets into a car, he needs to know which engine it is. All hell breaks loose unless it is a petrol with at least 8 cylinders.

Something about sitting in that interior would make me want to start doing coke

No V8 for Europe, and currently no option for eABC even on the straight six S500 are both very disappointing. I would like one of these with a 500bhp V8 and active suspension in 6 years when it's £30k hehe

Obviously, without a doubt, the mechanical clock impugns any technology this car might have. Must be that the Germans have some doubt about what they created.

How much could a manufacturer potentially be saving, in both development and manufacturing costs, by replacing a multitude of different buttons/switches/dials with a single screen?
the major part of savings is probably not from the buttons they dont have to use, but from the architecture, the bus, the integration of stuff.

This interior is supposed to be the standard of modern luxury? Horrible effort!

Comes with a built in Toaster. How good is that.

Well it’s only proper to pair a 1959 Dom Perignon with strawberry pop tarts.

In this day and age, I'm pretty impressed that is only 90k.

I wasn’t keen on the initial photos upon release but Shmees first walk around video really impressed me. The lighting behind the interior panels are very nice. I can imagine a late night 200 mile drive in this would be a breeze.

Always loved the S class, but the interior of this one is cheap and nasty. 2 big ipads stuck on the dash. Cheap and very nasty and nowhere near what you expect for an S class. It will drive well and look after passengers in Merc style, but what are they thinking for the ipads. Money saving for sure, but come on Merc you can do better than that. So few are driven anyway by owners now, so maybe the Uber drivers and airport transfer drivers like it that way.

That 4 wheel steering for parking is amazing. Coming to a Ford Focus in 2031

If they released this photo on 1st April, it would be too obvious that it was a joke..

History will look back at the start of full touch screens in cars, and laugh. I'm laughing now.
