Deserves to exist as a production car even if I will never get to even sit in one!

I might get to race one on a game!

? it weighs 1240kg, it's really not a heavy car

my c43 merc is 1800kg and has 1490 less bhp
It’s pretty much the same weight as a Senna. With double the power. redface

really? You thought a 2 ton+ car would make a 'great' track car?
My thoughts exactly, no matter how quick you get a heavy car going round a track the toll it takes on fuel, brakes, tyres and heat in the drivetrain creates a huge problem relative to lighter cars.

Which brings me to F1, active aero would significantly reduce the fuel requirements as you wouldn't be dragging wings through the high speed straights. Surely a good thing for the sports green credentials.
I think the both of you might need to read what he wrote again smile
I did, I picked up the fact he said track car, not a race car. The Bentley used as an example is a striped out race car, not a track car. For me, and I most likely am being pedantic there is a difference between a track car and race car

It's not going to be a one-off. I expect it'll have 10 or so customers for track only. And then someone will make a road-legal kit for it like Lanzante did for the P1 GTR and RML did for the Aston Martin Vulcan.
30+ cars is the figure

That is one achingly gorgeous Bugatti, and I thought the standard EB110 was nice enough. Lovely to see the Type 57 G Tank on the right too.

Shame it's track only, this is perfect for Kensington High Street.
Give them a day or two laugh
But you'll have to explain why your squillion pound car is rocking hubcaps. laugh
at least this might be noticed.
there's a Senna that rolls along there regularly. whenever i see it i look at all the people nearby.... nobody blinks. just another supercar.

How strange.

Where are all those people who claim that massive acceleration is pointless, one trick pony, irrelevant, etc when it's some new electric car, but here it's all;

Spunds like a nasty case of small penis syndrome at Bugatti hq, just a few weeks after a blown LS in slippery chassis blasts the top speed records to pieces

Seriously, how much money, and stupidity would you need to take that on a track

Only a F1 driver or pro drag racer would know that acceleration, it’s totally nuts.

Fun fact: with no traction control, two wheel drive and a lot of aero, an F1 car accelerates 100-200kph faster than it does 0-100. Usually about 2.1 and 2.3s respectively.
Hobby drag racers also laugh

The thing I find most impressive about Bugatti's engineering is the TC systems. They have exceptionally well calibrated software for putting their power to the ground effectively, with very little parasitic losses in the transmission.

I always wondered what would be possible if a Chiron went on a big diet, regardless of upping the power output. The effect is quite profound. A monster bit of engineering thumbup

Because it weighs not alot and has said it can match lap records? Not really a one trick pony is it.

That makes this track toy "relevant", in a way that a Lucid Air or plaid Tesla isn't?

Seems like a dumb. last hurrah for a vehicle that never was very popular. Your racing pals with SP2s will laugh.

I think the Bugatti's have been incredibily popular just utterly unaffordable for 99.9999% of people.

Why would someone who owns this laugh about one? wink

Design heavily taken from the Divo by the looks of it. Fair looking thing though. I dread the price. The Divo is what, $5 million? I bet this would be 7-8 million or something crazy.

I'm often a bit sceptical about downforce claims. Maybe I just don't get it.

Are they saying that you could rest the weight of an Elise on the front wing and it wouldn't break?

Those acceleration figures are unbelievable. I've always viewed the Veyron/Chiron as luxury cars that just happen to be extremely powerful. Great to see them turning their attention towards a lightweight, track-focused car.

I'm amazed it took until page three for someone to start banging on about a bloody Tesla. Quite ironic that you put emphasis on the word "relevant".

Keep up at the back. There are rumours around (including references to cacti and other geographical features) that it was faked.

If I were going to put money on a company not faking it though, that would be Bugatti.

I'm just amused by the double standard nonsense.
