My yearning is for a Citroen SM
i fancy buying one with a dodgy engine and hydraulics, a proper mechanical nightmare. i'd rip the lot out in favour of a tesla conversion and air ride. there's a good candidate on US ebay for $15k, i am tempted. Good choice for a conversion, electric propulsion would suit its nature

Seriously: Do it. I think we all want to see this!
i'm seriously thinking about it. i was presented with an opportunity to build an EV ac cobra replica for a customer so started looking into the process for registration etc. turns out that new builds can't be made road legal here [uae] but anything over 30yrs old is pretty straight forward. said customer has gone away to think about what muscle car he wants to build but i think something more elegant is needed.blueg33 said:
I’d keep the hydraulic suspension. They are ultra cool when parked. USA cars don’t have the glass covered headlights
i hear you, but i think air would be easier to achieve as a standalone system, should be easy to program the controls to get the parked stance correct. the US headlights are rather rubbish i agree. the car on ebay is also red, which doesn't suit it at all. i've been watching a lot of kindig customs recently so favouring a custom look externally but the triple faired in lights and number plate are so iconic that it would irk me if they weren't included.
also seems there's a scrappier car for $8k now listed as well. hmmm.

My wife is about to come into an inheritance. Technically it's OUR money after 31 years of marriage, ....
Technically it isn't. Not until the funds are integrated into the shared asset pool. She wants to not pay off any of the mortgage on our second home, but instead invest it in overpriced kitchens and holidays and enjoying ourselves, and helping the kids out with house deposits and the like.
And she thinks my shed is due a replacement, which is probably true, but her influence in my car buying has a usually resulted in a compromise that I regretted. The omega was bought on a whim, and she hated it with a vengeance for the first few months, but has admitted a grundging respect for it 4 years later. It was the first car I've owned in 10 years that I've enjoyed driving.

I remember when I was about 7 one of the mums at the boarding school I was at had one of these. I loved cars even at that tender young age and thought it was the coolest car in the car park. I still remember the first time I saw it. However, I can’t remember the last time I saw one......maybe that one back in the 70’s!nomis36 said:

Isuzu D-max.
I have absolutely no need or use for one but I want one. Rugged near bomb proof pick-up truck!
I have the same problem from time to time - not necessarily the Isuzu but an intermittent desire for a pickup that I have no need for whatever. I have absolutely no need or use for one but I want one. Rugged near bomb proof pick-up truck!
