I've been looking at picking up a cheap wagon for camping/outdoor trips. SUVs don't quite cut it and proper stuff like Landrovers/Wranglers are too expensive! Have an urge for one of these, very cheap as they aren't fashionable, acres of room with the third row down and plenty of room for sleeping in the back if needed. Thinking a proper roof rack or roof tent and a bike rack. Could be prefect
You need a Citroen Berlingo multispace in your life. TwigtheWonderkid said:
I don't want similar things. I want THIS thing, bought officially thru the UK Hyundai network, with their 5 yr manufacturer's warranty.
Love that. Why did they never bring it to Europe?! Looks superb and very clever. Keeps it a reasonable size for European roads to then expand on arrival. Yes, featured in monster buses already but they are so unwieldly anyway whereas the benefits on this size are immense. mattman said:
Teenager in the 90’s who read too much Max Power magazine. Want the E30 build they did, it used to live in our town many years ago.
Getting close to 50 but still yearn for stupid car - wife says no
My wife is about to come into an inheritance. Technically it's OUR money after 31 years of marriage, but I'm.being careful to say it's your patents money, I'm.not spending it. Getting close to 50 but still yearn for stupid car - wife says no
She thinks I should use some of it to replace the MV6 3.2 omega, with something "newer"
Now. I've said, " yeah, well, you are going to struggle. There are few cars under £15k that I'd want to drive let alone buy, and anything I might suggest you would think I was stupid, and I think any compromise between my stupid and your sensible, would be a complete waste of your money"
What I really want is her to say "Any car you like" and spunk it on either a 911 or a Monaro or Maloo, or a BMW 850 from.the early 90s.
I Once bought a mk2 cavalier CalibrE and blew the engine up after month s of unreliability. And she never lets me forget. I still regret not fixingbit properly , instread of cutting it loose to
someone in the owners club for a song .

Some years ago now: On arriving at Geneva Airport and ecpecting to pick up an Astra sized hire car, we were given a C6 with 240 km.on the clock. It took.me a couple of days to realise it was diesel. It had every gadget I'd ever imagined. From front parking sensors to head up display on the sat nav,
We had it for about 10 days, staying on a Eurocamp site in a Chalet ( a caravan) near Lake Anacey. Drove to Chamonix over the mountains one day.
It was to the this day the newest and most expensive car I've every driven.
Brilliant.
Plus, every time we drove onto the camp site, the looks we got were like we were drug mafia...

Technically it isn't. Not until the funds are integrated into the shared asset pool. She wants to not pay off any of the mortgage on our second home, but instead invest it in overpriced kitchens and holidays and enjoying ourselves, and helping the kids out with house deposits and the like.
And she thinks my shed is due a replacement, which is probably true, but her influence in my car buying has a usually resulted in a compromise that I regretted. The omega was bought on a whim, and she hated it with a vengeance for the first few months, but has admitted a grundging respect for it 4 years later. It was the first car I've owned in 10 years that I've enjoyed driving.

My yearning is for a Citroen SM
i fancy buying one with a dodgy engine and hydraulics, a proper mechanical nightmare. i'd rip the lot out in favour of a tesla conversion and air ride. there's a good candidate on US ebay for $15k, i am tempted. Good choice for a conversion, electric propulsion would suit its nature
