No bother.

The chrome on the handles and mirror covers; there for a reason?
Easily removed?
If you end up sticking a proper advert up, stick a link up.

The door-to-door screens are a little on the busy side with some of the display options, but I think the Honda e is a much better interpretation of the "everything is a tablet" dashboard than anything BMW or Mercedes are putting out. There's more W124/W126 influence in that layout than there is in a Mercedes! Especially those slim air vents, which are very W126.

And it's a little city car...
That's brilliant, isn't it? And draws so well from their heritage

They were on it when I got it. Not a choice i'd make but it's grown on me. I'm told it's easy to change. I didn't know they weren't supposed to be there when I got it.

What about a first-gen XF Sportbrake? Smart, elegant and pretty cool, IMO.

Nice to drive, fulfils the practicality requirements without being staid, and (I reckon) on-message for enhancing your already elephantine personal magnetism.

Eh?

I like these but aren't they all diesel (1st gen)?
Not the ones that are worth having:

There's one of these round the corner from me with a leaper on it, I'll have to try and get a picture for the thread.

E38 730i - 3.0 V8 - overpriced IMO

Probably a worse engine to have over the 728i for those that aren't fans of the M52 winkbiggrin Heavy V8 with not much power over the 2.8 M52...

On BC coilovers too; which some will moan about; but having had an E38 on BC coilovers; it drove superbly; handled superbly and wasn't harsh at all. That's with having them set up right, with some corner weighting and a full tracking & alignment. IMO the cars too low in the ad; but they can soon be raised smile

This was mine on BCs and the tyres weren't 'tucked' ; just the angle of the picture:

Wow, that is terrible! eek

It's clearly had paint - just a shame it's not the same shade of silver as the rest of the car. laugh

Pictures are some of the worst I've seen outside of "spares or repairs" adverts. Just woeful.

Another nice E65 730D Sport here: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202101188...

They are a good car IMO; superb build quality. You just need to be careful re electrical niggles, like mine had... Other than that; it was standard maintenance of the engine and suspension and a great place to sit and do long miles

I loved my 745i when it didn't need work doing to it. Interior was a lovely place to spend time. Definitely felt more special than the Lexus I think. Just nowhere near as reliable! Nor quite as comfortable.

I'm not sure they've vanished overnight, it's just that no-one is selling their FL2, as they are so reliable, and there's no heir apparent.

If you had a much-loved but long in the tooth FL2, would you replace it with an Evoque? Nope, you'd just give it to The Man for some love, and keep it.
Plus......gigantic maestro!

You're bang on with both comments I think and your descriptions are what's missing from good motoring journalism these days.
I don't care if the compliment wasn't meant for me, I'm taking it anyway. laugh

Never seen velour seats in an E38. Nice colour + alloys. Looks like the seller is banking on the low miles to justify the price.

Looks like there's a warning on the Check Control. I can't remember if low fuel can trigger that.

Would prefer a decent 728i.

Thank you, kind sir.

Nice to know someone (other than me) attributes value to the half-lucid stream of consciousness that makes up the majority of my contributions to this thread. laugh

More than likely low washer fluid on the E38; common issue that the sensor cacks it too...

Yeah; the E65 750i IMO has massive bork factor and it rings alarm bells if they can't be bothered to replace the ABS sensor...

I am expecting some wallet pain, as the 129 has had some work done, service, repairs and the like. Last year was a good year on costs, only servicing required, but now over and above some suspension work and servicing, it now needs top hydraulic roof cylinders done, rear plastic windows need repairing, might as well get the seat bolster and various trim bits inside sorted at the same time. I might also look at a getting the rear cleaned up and sprayed too.

I suspect I may well be sponsoring several exotic holidays this year. C'est la vie, hopefully get all sorted before summer.
