You could record the exhaust note of the car at various RPM before electrification and then have a box of tricks in the car post electrification that plays the correct exhaust note from speakers at the equivalent speed / revs.
Or you could have the engine it came with and the 'correct' exhaust note would play out the back of the car all the time.

This looks clean and tidy for just £1,799.

The advert is on FB so I'm not sure if the images are going to work or not; my FB skills are extraordinarily low.

The newer EV releases have synthetic sounds playing through the speakers to imitate an engine or a spaceship whoosh. A bit like mobile phone ringtones it's fun to go through them when you get a new handset but then just choose the default.

Personally the main advantage of an EV is silence so I'd choose that, achieved by using noise cancelling tech also via speakers LOL.

I can just imagine it now....

Cruising top down into Monaco, on a beautiful summer's evening, accompanied by the electric soundtrack of the whine of a tortured washing machine.

I fear on a converted classic that would be the ultimate Gerald

The wheels don't suit it at all, but that otherwise looks to be a cracker.

I think in a city in a few years this maybe the only way to drive something that looks interesting

The earlier ones are less likely to rust too - my BIL has a P reg C280 Sport - he has had rust issues, but nothing like the later ones.

I'm a fan of the augmented sound that is audible outside the Taycan. It's bafflingly brilliant.

Accord Type R gone - made a small bit of profit including the work I did to get it through its latest MOT.
E39 of woe is going tomorrow.
Nice sounding bloke coming down from Edinburgh for it.
Lost £270 on the sale price between buying it without the need of a gearbox rebuild being declared and selling it with that declaration.
By some happy circumstance (Lord knows how, it never happens to me usually); the insurance company have given a full refund with no fee so all I'll lose out on top of the £270 is my, dad and mums time being wasted and £30 road tax for the month.

Lesson learnt anyway - ALWAYS test drive! Usually would, just got to make sure it's all the time from now on.

In the grand scheme of things that's not too bad. Still, a fair bit of stress and hassle you could have done without but not too bad I think. Glad it worked out reasonably well for you.

Wheels from an A Class I think, nice enough, but look awful on a C Class.

Yes indeed. Could have been a lot worse but if it was i'd have just put a gearbox in it and punted it on myself afterwards.
Just don't have the inclination or spare time at the minute.

So, I have a few grand burning a hole. AND I've always liked those CL500's...

2 years ago i could have got a respectable one for £3k.

Doing my duty by supporting my local! I have to say I think the 190 cabriolet concept looks superb.

That does look great, but I guess there wasn't much call for another cabrio in the line up.

I can sort of understand withoseluxury van/people carrier things but not so much with a conventional 3 box saloon.
Parts is difficult yes but insurance and servicing is nothing unusual, being Toyota it shares parts with cars sold here(ls/gs lexus) the only real difficult to get items are things like body panels, glass etc.

But I'll be honest, the main reason is the spec. I simply cannot find anything here that fits what I want. Not even budget limited. Finding a black on black ls430 in good condition seems to be impossible. I've seen one over the last 2 years.
This was what sealed it for me too, I cannot find something that combines the reliability/speed/build quality/economy of the Crown over here - so I go to Japan. My experience is a carbon copy Grudas regarding parts/insurance with hard bit's being bodywork/glass, tis a shame as I've just found out my car has a mega rare bodykit that was ordered when my car was new from Toyota and I've damaged it weeping

Anyone have any experience of Lexus IS seats? It is the most uncomfortable seat I have ever sat on and gives me back pain after ten minutes. 600 miles to do this weekend...
