I asked her only this last week if she preferred 'my first wife' or 'my present wife' if I were to find myself relating stories making reference to her.

I await her formal response.

I know its only the 4.3 and shame about the black interior, but....

And where double thread, and also still with a piddly engine, there are a couple of later cars with excellent specs about. This 350 (petrol thanks all the same) has a long list of goodies.

That old S Class has a much better looking arse than face.

I assume they rust quite a bit?

If this 960 sells for anything near the estimate it will surely be a bargain:

What's the 'PS' on the dash?

And while Senators are (allegedly) £6k motors, here's a 2006 (don't know the W number as too new for my moustache) S500 -

Advert dreadful, resale silver and doesn't have the steering wheel I love but seemingly not bad VFM in Covid times.

I think the PS stands for Park and Sport in the selectable shift mode. Driving off it would be DS.

That S500 has been for sale for ages, I wonder is the blandness putting punters off or are there issues? The price seems competitive these days.
What's the steering wheel you prefer as I thought they all had the same one?

Same style wheel on the one after the 220 (221?), but when it has the wood on the rim I think it looks the business.

Have you brought someone in to test your food and drink for you, before you consume it?

A mate of mine is off to the Carribbean on secondment soon (jammy bd) and he's going out two months before his wife and kids.
When asked what he was going in the months before the family arrived. He replied with “no idea, never had such freedom."
Apparently that was a poor choice of words .....

Looks lovely and tbh 2.5k is not much money (if it all goes bad, break for parts etc). I'd buy it just for the colour.

Is it considered a bad engine?

You don't see any E500 estates for months and then.....

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114762467433

£3700. 7 seater with 196k miles and medium spec. It's got the right wheels and no tinted windows, which I know is important on here.

Or

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284264154333

30k less miles and nearly £2k more. With tinted windows and erm wheels (where they haven't been curbed)

Or (and in my opinion, saving the best till last)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284264130458

£5950 but low miles (for it's age) and apparently it's a very dark green and designo interior. It also looks very well equipped....with heated and cooled memory seats.

That last one looks the pick of the litter. Unmolested, seemingly well looked after, good spec esp if you need 7 seats.
Someone here needs to buy it to have an E500 hat trick this week biggrin

This one is on FB marketplace for £3k i nearly bit, but seeing all the issues my 320 cdi has at 220k I figured half the mileage for £1k was prudent.

That last one has nice spec, I really wanted the posh seats.

I also love the look of the CLS - the interior in yours is lovely - what is the dash trim/wood? It's just a shame they don't do a rear bench seat version - I really need my cars to have at least 5 seatbelts.
I am pretty sure that the rear seat mounts are the same as an E-class so very easy to make a 5 seater CLS. Not sure if it goes as far as the 5th belt already being fitted under the current seat (as with the lap belts on my R107 which are under the parcel shelf)
