If anyone is after a mega spec W221 this is the most highly spec'd out S500 I've seen, I think it's every box ticked.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-2008-OBSIDIAN-BLAC...
I'd have to take off the naff Brabus badging and maybe swap out some less tacky wheels, but that is absolute top spec (Fridge, night vision, proper leather, ABC, all the seat options front and rear, it even claims to have the auxilliary parking heater. It's been up for a while so there is almost certainly some negotiating to be done.
Ace spec. The front end is properly peppered with stone chips, and there seem to be nicks all over. Yet another negotiation point, but at that price I'd be expecting more than just tyre shine. It makes the 6k diesel one Mike D found (silver with beige) look a positive bargain (although long gone I'm sure). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-2008-OBSIDIAN-BLAC...

Is anyone nearby the nice coloured S500 posted earlier?

Ilkeston, which I believe is Derbyshire without checking.
I think R129 had that engine in a E class and liked it quite lot.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104081...

I want to say 21st CM is down that way.
Don't you hate cleaning old barges?
Not only because they're f*cking huge and take twice as long as a small car, but also because after giving it the first wash for at least 6 months you realise that up close it really isn't that tidy more of a 6 footer unfortunately! Lots of little scratches, odd scuff mark, couple of very minor dents
Still, looks cleaner than it did

Proper engined S210 with a good spec, moderate miles and no visible rot (though MOT history would say it's lurking). Memory heated seats, wood wheel, nav, sunroof and most importantly, rear boot vacuum stripes of win. Exhaust looks a bit Barry and it'll suit a set of monobloc AMGs.

£4K!?
I’ll crack the jokes.
All the lurkers on these pages have no excuses with the offerings presented today. Even the 211 with the black alloys seems to have a good owner.

Personally I find it liberating to own cars that I can run through the roller wash and not care if they pick up the odd scratch. Not only because they're f*cking huge and take twice as long as a small car, but also because after giving it the first wash for at least 6 months you realise that up close it really isn't that tidy more of a 6 footer unfortunately! That said, anything in nice condition I end up wanting to keep nice!

Digi dash is a no from me - far to busy in day to day driving much prefer the analogue set up
OK I'll agree maybe 5K tops - IF (and it's a big IF) the
Rear arches aren't full of plod,
Sills are OK,
Rear chassis rails above the crossmember aren't swiss cheese
Bulkhead where the main loom goes thro is solid (really awkward repair area)
It's a nice colour but the grey leather never looks as nice as the black
This was £5K (no offers) last year (was built around my old Body Kit and Wheels)
I think it's got other issues

I love the original CLS. This one really works for me: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143955927800
That strikes me as an upgraded interior of some variety too.
ETA: Can someone tell me why this 211 500 estate is so pricey? It looks in good fettle but 10 bags.

The seller is greedy and is holding on to what he perceives is a rare and desirable vehicle.

It has an extra 80bhp over the older 500, and fixes a load of the bigger problems (rust, SBC). Dangerously close to 55 AMG pricing though. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010185...

That steering wheel looks like a crap kids toy as well....

That's been up for sale for a while. I thought it was the one Stegel bought but obviously not
To echo those above, it's the facelift version of the S211. So has a slightly different grille and steering wheel and a more powerful engine, than the previous E500.So, it's faster but has the higher tax. It's been up for sale for ages too....it must be 6 months now. Cheaper E55's have sold in that time!

It's sad whenever you know the car you're referring to before even clicking the link
As Michael has said there's maybe an element of greed or speculation on them part of the seller. To me it looks a little plain compared to Stegels which looked much better.
I think it's in a tough place because for around that money you can get a fully loaded S500 limo for less money which will look so much more expensive.
You gotta really want that engine in an estate body to open negotiations and most people needing a car like that will go SUV.
I dare say this is going to end up way over budget, but just look at it (well, look at the bits of it that the seller hasn't hidden behind a boat).

I want that more than I want first dibs on all the scantily clad babes on Fridays. Wonderful. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-Sovereign-V12/17...
I've uncovered a company called "Arrows" in Japan who'll rebuild you a S124 or classic W463 G Wagen in rather hipster-tastic period looking colours with natty seat upholstery (not standard). They also de-wood the dash to underline the pov-spec ambiance! £27k for a finished 320TE or £13 grand to refurb your own car.
