Maybe I've been lucky with them, although the one in my W211 was a bit sticky it always behaved.

Really I just like them for the extra light in the interior
Krikkit, the lubrication of the sunroof rails is a service schedule item. I asked my indy to do it when the sunroof began to partial open itself upon the one-touch close operation. The tub of MB grease for the sunroof is too large to be purchased for an infrequent job.

Agree about the extra light in the interior.

Ah that'd be why, mine was rather unloved when I bought it, despite looking good from the outside. I think all the fake badges stuck on it should've been a warning!

Rather like this example of an E400 that I spotted in Bath? hehe

There are also the sunroof visors to lubricate also, as they are designed to slide on rails so as to extend to the B pillar for effective coverage.

I love the sunroof on my S211 fir the light but more so the circulation of air but I close it if it gets noisy. Ref the issues you had, sounds like mine. If fully retracted and I press the one shot close it would get to an inch of closing and retract. I figured it was hitting friction so retracted as it might have been a finger etc.

Last week I squirted it with lots of WD-40, probably not the best but it's fixed it. I also somehow got the rear parcel blind to retract itself on tailgate opening. No idea how but I loosened the plastics, wiggled the wires behind, it worked so I tightened all up. I noticed last night it had stopped working so I bang it with my clenched fist, still not working but ok again today! biggrin

A possible issue with the WD40 would be the attraction of dirt and particles.

Moi? Pity it's boring silver, but who can resist a car like that with blurb like this:

Seller possibly named Wordsworth said:

Lexus SC-430 4.3 V8 best looking hardtop convertible ever made. The best vehicle made and even though this lady is 18 years old shes still a head-turner. ... the custom exhaust alone makes this Lexus SC430 purr like a kitten and the sound is addictive.

Some copy-writing lessons there for our man JOB.

I'm glad you said that, one drove past me last week and I turned to expect to see an American muscle car. I'm assuming it had an exhaust mod as it was a lovely note.

hehe They must've been done by the same diseased mind...

The interior didn't escape, no sir!

There was also a load of tat in the engine bay which I was daft enough not to bother picturing - stickered letters and AMG badges on the plastic engine cover and a load of stainless fasteners everywhere.

Well I wouldn't mind stainless fasteners but I can't cope with stick on tat

And the complete lack of lubrication once it soon drys out - always follow up WD40 with an actual lubricant - grease, oil, silicon, whatevs.

It also seems to suffer from a similar affliction to a 1.1 Nova with a cherry bomb exhaust.
Loads of noise and not much forward progress.
