This looks clean and tidy for just £1,799.

The advert is on FB so I'm not sure if the images are going to work or not; my FB skills are extraordinarily low.

The wheels don't suit it at all, but that otherwise looks to be a cracker.
The earlier ones are less likely to rust too - my BIL has a P reg C280 Sport - he has had rust issues, but nothing like the later ones.
Apart from the rust you mean?

Strong miles too, 176k, with gash alloys and spoiler.

Nothing- bar the miles- that's not fixable, but it may not be the mega deal thread seems to think it is. Fair value in this market perhaps, but not more.

That does look great, but I guess there wasn't much call for another cabrio in the line up.
I would have thought the rear seats made it a bit pointless with the SL in the line up?

Wheels from an A Class I think, nice enough, but look awful on a C Class.
It's probably just me, but I don't like the look of those wheels where the spokes are wider at the rim than they are at the hubs, they just look naff to me.

It's not just you, I don't like them either.

Big spec does for once mean it's got some options.

I should have written, less likely to rust as badly as a later one. That's not bad for that age and mileage for a C-class - still you wonder how many times it has been fixed or even worse, bodged over the years. My V-reg C230K had bills for thousands in rust repairs and resprays when I bought it, and during my time with it it needed welding underneath.

One for the bad parking thread, that.

Accord Type R gone - made a small bit of profit including the work I did to get it through its latest MOT.
E39 of woe is going tomorrow.
Nice sounding bloke coming down from Edinburgh for it.
Lost £270 on the sale price between buying it without the need of a gearbox rebuild being declared and selling it with that declaration.
By some happy circumstance (Lord knows how, it never happens to me usually); the insurance company have given a full refund with no fee so all I'll lose out on top of the £270 is my, dad and mums time being wasted and £30 road tax for the month.

Lesson learnt anyway - ALWAYS test drive! Usually would, just got to make sure it's all the time from now on.
I missed that you were selling the Type R - I would have been interested in it - ignore me if you think I am being rude, but how much did it go for and why did you sell it?

hehe

Spec as you mention W00DY is decent. Rear heated seats is v uncommon. Xenons, front heated and pro nav. Pro HiFi (Logic7) option too according to the advert. Rear bumper looks pretty tatty I notice.

Good result ultimately LTA. Shame you had to go through all that palaver though. frown

Did a 3hr round trip to see my parents and sister today. Ave 26mpg in the X5 according to the OBC (cruise set at ~65mph)

Sold at £3500.
Think my mate (who collected it today) is acting as a middle man to a dealer in the north east.
No doubt it’ll end up going up for a lot more than I got but that’s the way the world works.
Had it for less time than I would have liked ideally but if there’s one thing I’ve learned in life’s it’s to take opportunities when they’re presented to you.

And thanks to others for well wishes/comments etc.

With an apparent intent to profit, I think I'd describe that as a "person known to me" rather than "a mate".

Still, if you made and it takes the edge off the 5, so be it.

Probably for the best I didn’t see that ad. Regret selling my integra dc2 and prices are now silly.

In other news off to look at a discovery 3 tomorrow as a ‘new’ family bus.

That car is immaculate, no rust issues in Cali. That would be a nice way to waft down Rodeo Drive biggrin

Some of the worst pictures to try and sell a car here. However worth posting as a genuinely rare mini-barge and I cannot remember the last time I saw one in the wild. Lusted after one as a young man - Audi 90 quattro 20v (in budget)

I recommend looking at an XC90 as an alternative for the Disco 3, unless you plan to do some proper off roading? - awesome family cars.

DHP equipped LS400. Looks to be a low owner car with some history. Hardly a pristine example, but the (trade) seller isn’t being greedy and £2495 is entry level money these days for a Mk4. Especially if the long-ish list of jobs required to fulfil the seller’s claim of a full MOT are attended to...
