Classic alloy wheel designs
Discussion
1970s Wolfrace. As used on the S1 Lotus Esprit, seen in the Bond movie "The Spy Who Loved Me".
At the same time the main competitor was Cobra Superslots (Supaslots?) which were quite similar-looking but were a bit flat for me and didn't have the contours and flowing lines of the Wolfrace.
I liked the "space age" design on the 1970s Lotus Elite. I'm guessing they were magnesium as they were extremely light. Alloys used to be known as "mag wheels", guessing that was short for magnesium. Steel is an alloy, so technically a steel wheel is an alloy wheel!

In terms of daily cars I have BMW 403M wheels on my F30 and Roulettes on my mini which are both lovely designs albeit I’m very unimpressed with the way the 403s have corroded!
I do like the 403s, mine are painted silver, but ferric grey is the way forward!Every day a journey said:

Cobra Supaslots were the cheaper pretender to Wolfrace dish slot mags. In the late 70s (in the time of John Brown Wheels knocking these out), you could buy new Supaslots for around half to three-quarters of the price of Wolfrace wheels.
