Either your front or rear wheels are on the wrong sides. I don't remember which, I have the other type of wheels.Your rear plate looks so high up too lol. GLWTS. Good price considering the mileage. Exactly the same as my 11 plate in fact, so for an 09 it must have barely been driven.
I have heard a few people say there is a whiff of E39 M5 about these cars. I have an E39 M5 but never driven one. Anyone had both and offer a view?
If you wanted a more modern E39 M5 with an auto then this would be a discrete choice. Value is in the eye of the beholder but I would suggest V8 / LSD combo in a practical format is worth cherishing whilst it lasts.

I have a 2006 is220.
It is treated with utter contempt by myself and my partner. It's never been serviced since I bought it, it came with no service history and is battered all around.
The interior is wearing too thanks to dog and kids. I barely even wash it. It's an absolute hack. Currently just below 160,000 short journey miles.
Everything works, all the switches, all the gizmos, everything. I always consider just getting rid of it, but every time I drive it I can't help but love it. I don't desire it, but I love its sheer robustness and build quality so I just can't part with it.
When (if it dies) I will replace it with another Lexus. I doubt it will be a second-hand is250 as I think regardless of age, they all look the same to me and all the design tweaks just make it look a bit more pointy, but I don't think I've ever owned anything so determined to resist failure.
The only thing I just can't warm to is the myriad of buttons for the HVAC, stereo etc. It just looks like a cheap ghetto blaster.
However, I'd certainly buy a fast Lexus over an equivalent German offering just so I could sleep at night and not expect some sort of cosmic bill. This is coming from owning many German marques.
I'd be very careful. The IS220D is not the holy grail of reliability. In fact, that diesel lump is prone to head gasket failure and head warping. It's a very un-Lexus engine. It is treated with utter contempt by myself and my partner. It's never been serviced since I bought it, it came with no service history and is battered all around.

A truly rare and characterful modern car. Able to blend luxury anonymity (is that an Avensis?) with full on muscle-car enjoyment with the running costs of a Civic. I adored mine, replaced with a GSF several years ago which maintains all the ISF’s abilities whilst being a little more grown up.

Had alot of want at one point and still think they look fresh plus love the fact you don't live in perpetual fear of the engine management light illuminating but I like my V8 with torque not a revy power delivery, would have liked to have seen it
supercharged preferably so I'm pulling with out having to draw attention to myself. What's the noise like btw?

I've often wondered why the Japanese can turn out cars like this that are as dependable as the tides, and can be run on a sensible budget, and the Germans can't.
Wonderful as they are, running an 9 year old M, RS or AMG product without consideration for expensive bork is generally considered to be unwise. Elevated consumable and fuel costs aside, this would be no more demanding to run than an IS220, and no less reliable. You can't say the same for any of the German equivalents.

Had mine since last August (i've been running a thread on here about it). I've always hankered after one, mine is the second one i've ever seen in person!
Its great, it can be a nice refined Lexus when you want it to be or an absolute brute. Running mine so far has been cheaper than running my Golf R estate for everything other than tax and even with regards to fuel useage there isnt much in it! With it having 8 gears it revs low if youre not on it so on a run itll easily do 30mpg.
The facelift (post '10) cars are demanding a much higher price. You can get a good pre-facelift for 15-18k and thats where my money went. The suspension is firmer and it lacks a torsen differential but the E-diff seems to do fine for my driving.
I've also had no negative encounters with it, people seem to be bemused by it because on the face of it it's rather subtle until you look at it properly but the noise it makes doesnt match its looks. I've had many in our village asking what on earth is it!

That's quite important isn't it? Don't the blades draw air into the discs? And weren't Lexus very strict about their direction?
Its not essential, there are different wheels without this feature for example, but with some heavy driving it would help keep the breaks cool and prevent brake fade. Just been out and checked and its just the fronts and ironically it was Lexus to last touch the wheels on the car in October, so they must have put them back on the opposite side swithout me noticing *sigh*

The engine makes over 300lb/ft from 2000 RPM upward, no its not a mustang style V8 but its also not torque shy it really is an absolute peach. If you need more torque than that to pull out of a junction I dont think its the sound that will be drawing attention but the screeching of tyres and sideways nature!supercharged preferably so I'm pulling with out having to draw attention to myself. Sound wise you get the classic V8 warble, enhanced on mine with a cat back, and the induction noise in particular when the second chamber opens is fantastic too.
