As always, you'll get more for them if you break them into parts.

Whilst I've grown to love old Mercs of this era, to me this looks amazing but £100k seems massively OTT. Opposite ends of the spectrum but this or one of those new Audi e-tron things?
If you just suggested you'd take the e-tron over this I'm fairly sure that's insta-perma-ban territory. Might not be someone's cup of tea but this over the ex-wife's dildo any day of the week.

Stunning.
Agreed, I love this, a stunning car in a great colour.

If I had 100k to spend it wouldn't be top of my list admittedly but it would be far above an awful lot of modern stuff.

You've missed the boat on that one - they go back to school on Monday. Should have sold weeks ago smile

Be interesting to know how light is ‘Lightweight’
It's 1295 kg. Seemingly 130 kg was removed from the base 190E 2.6 by Brabus.
The rest of the spec, for those interested in such things, are:
M103.940 from the 190E 2.6 replaced with a M103.980 (3.0 from W124 and W126)
Bore and stroke increased from 88.5 mm x 80.25 mm to 92 mm x 90 mm resulting in 3588 cc
Output 272PS at 6000 RPM, 365Nm at 4500 RPM
5 speed manual
0-100 kmh (0-62 mph): 5.9 seconds
Top speed: 265 kmh (165 mph)
Wheels: Brabus Monoblock 8J x 16 ET38
Tyres: Yokohama A 048 Medium, 225/45 ZR 16

Anyone spotted the differential oil cooler integrated in the rear spoiler yet?!

As stated many times above, when compared to the prices of some 1980s/1990s cars when you consider how much work has gone into this, the price doesn't seem too unreasonable.

Put the original seats back in, chuck the roll cage, paint it a sensible colour, bin the engine and stick an M113 5.6 motor and auto box in there, halve the price and I’ll take it.

Yeah, hadn't heard of it until now, am sure with 100 grand you could build something pretty special using whatever engine, motorsport parts and do something bespoke, never really been all that into the Brabus thing and red with black wheels, just looks a bit 90s rude boy.
There was also the Carlsson C35 for you Jacko

Essentially a more restrained version from the Hartge brothers but still with a big 6

Somehow, like the Brabus here, not quite as quick low down as you’d expect but geared for high speed running on Autobahns ( hence the diff cooler )
Both 158-160 mph cars .....but blunted by that long gearing at UK 2-figure speeds

You could also buy a nice basis Evo 1 replica and give it a M113(k) V8swap, something like this, sell the present engine.

or if you like evo 2, you could buy something like this basis and give it a M113(k) V8 swap, sell that 2.6

The black one that was built after this Q2S recreation was a bit more Merc-like

W201s never look right with the side cladding painted body colour. It makes them look like they had a cheap blow over by a body shop that didn't care.

dissapointed that no one has mentioned the quality of the welding on the rollcage.

I think that my money would go on a restomod 190, with the M156 V8 and done up to look like an Evo II, can't remember who is does these conversions..

In the days of £11k Rover 25's, I think this is a bargain. And even without the Rover, I STILL think this is a very reasonable price for what it is - the level of engineering and attention to detail looks fantastic. Can't believe I'm saying this (as it's still a ridiculous amount in the real world!), but £100k is nothing for an interesting motor these days.
I think I paid around 11k for my Rover 25 early 2000 and considering it took 19 years of abuse from a large family THAT was a bargain. A Mercedes would have rusted itself to death a long time ago😂

1340kg on reading the articles on it. This one has the short gearing apparently ( a longer fdr is available to put top speed nearer 170 )
I think I’d want a much shorter one though - but I guess it’s more of a collector’s item. I’d probably go for the black one with full interior that he built afterwards and just add the coolers etc

YOU could but like any modified car the bits you add on are worthless and actually decreases market value.

I’d put my house on it whatever you built would not be as valuable as this.
Exactly. You can always tell the folks who have never paid to have a car seriously modded. They're the knowledgeable ones saying how quick and relatively cheap it would be to select all the bits and the various specialists and to coordinate them on time and within budget and not to make any component or specialist selection errors and change your mind or have better ideas mid-build or feel one of the specialists is ripping you off or find out from a better specialist that you should, have used different components etc.

For instance, re modding a 911, some specialists were adamant you need a GT3 crank; others, more knowledgeable, laughed at that and noted that the 964/3.2 crank was fine as is. Some told me that decent stopping power would best come from a complicated bespoke kit based around Turbo brakes; others rolled their eyes and said “just get Wilwoods” Etc etc. Different story if you’re a welding and fettling wizard with more knowledge than Hans Mezger, a car lift, an English wheel, 3-phase power, a good welder and paint shop, a spacious, well-equipped warm garage and lots of time and experience; but if, like me, your “skills” stop at changing plugs, oil, wheels, batteries and brake pads, and you know jack s**t about serious work, believe me, you will waste lots of money and time on technical u-turns and wild goose chases. And, once you’re stuck into a build process, you yourself will also be part of the problem, as you will find out about stuff that you didn’t know before you started, and you also will be changing your mind etc. ).

Sure, it’s very quick and easy to talk about it, different story when you’re mid process. The process is a bit like a self-build house. And as an architect once told me, “any self build project, be it house or vehicle, will take twice as long and cost twice as much, as your worst nightmares”(!). At the time, I thought he was joking - but I soon learned lol.

Agree with the red grille and the seats look pretty aggressive, but this thing would be a joy; far more fun and character than lots of other moderns you could drop 100k on. I’d say if you have the cash, buy it and enjoy it before they ban it …

....so a completely different car then? I'm sure for half that price again you can do this to your own 190E, along with whatever other additions contents your heart.

For those bemoaning the styling as being "a bit much" - compared to the over-adorned bilge that gets pumped out from from the likes of Kahn, Overfinch and even Brabus themselves these days, this is positively demure. Even compared to its contemporaries - Dimma 205 GTi anyone?
