MX-5ND for me - Didn't like the look of the headlights at first, but now I think it's a beautiful little car smile

More mundane than previous suggestions but I think the 5th gen Civic had great proportions.
Ours was a red VTi, lovely car: vaguely recall rumours at the time reckoned that Pininfarina had a hand in the design, in an under the counter deal that involved Honda sharing engine tech with FIAT/Ferrari. Never found anything substantial to support that idea, but it does seem to share some design similarities. The 6th gen seemed bloated & over done in contrast.

FTO. I'm biased because I had one for a bit, but just a lovely shape. Shame about the fuel consumption vs speed... But I still miss it.
I still think they look great, I had two. My second facelift is the top car, other pics just show the nice proportions well in my opinion.

There are obviously plenty of other nice, and nicer, looking Japanese cars (many mentioned above) but the FTO shape holds up well for me.

Of the more recent cars I think the 370z Nismo edition hits the Jap muscle car spot for looks.

I've yet to own one yet, the itch is there..

Still looks great, and a rare example of silver being one of the best colours

It’s easy for Japanese cars, and they’ve both been mentioned already. The Toyota 2000GT and Datsun 240Z.

Ah, shame. Topic banished to a slow and quiet death in the cul-de-sac of 'Jap Chat'...

I’m a massive JDM lover, but having owned one, “ albeit not for long “ the z32 in my eyes is such an iconic lovely looking thing.
That probably looked quite good before it was all Barried up
A splitter, wheels, and coil overs is now classed as barried up... give up.

I think the 370Z Nismo looks very purposeful as well. I've always loved the 240Z/300ZX/RX7 too.

RX-8

I honestly think these looks a bit ungainly and awkward nowadays. Like it couldn't decide whether it was a sportscar or not, a bit half arsed.
I'm with you on that. I first saw one in an X-Men film at the cinema and thought it looked amazing.

Usually cars grow on me, but the RX-8 is a rare case of me liking a car less as time moves on.

The moderation on here is, unfortunately, very, very poor.
