Does it have a section at the back where it gives ratings and stats for each reviewed car, like EVO and CAR used to do??
We thought about that, but we didn't think it was really appropriate for a quarterly – if a car makes it into the magazine, it's by definition interesting/great to drive/cool/a wonderful nostalgia-fest anyway. It was a similar thought about a price guide – given the quarterly nature of the magazine, a lot can change and other titles already have price guides...

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly in the back of Car was always far more interesting than the simple table of stats you got in other mags.

Mine has just arrived. A thing of beauty it is too. It'll need its own coffee table.

Interesting... I have about 6 copies of Evo mags I still need to work through, but I could be tempted in the future depending on how people report back.

Watching with interest.

Subscribed Friday, arrived today. Quick work people - especially these days. Looks v nice - reminds me of The Road Rat - also smells luxurious. Ahem, moving on...saving it for a proper read tonight, but looks v good.

Again, best of luck.

Absolute best of luck with the magazine and hopefully not prefaced by "remember that" in 3 year's time!

I get you though a good few on here have a pang of nostalgia about the way Autocar used to give every bit of info on the car's dimensions, performance etc, along with a blueprint diagram of the car from the side/front/rear. A vertical perf near the spine and you have yourself a USP, as such a thing would look damn good framed!

Maybe I'm just getting old hehe

Alright Eeyore, steady on. Your era of motoring enthusiasm might be over/relegated to history, but it doesn't mean everyone's is. Modern cars are not drivers cars? Plenty of them are, but possibly not the ones you're driving* I find modern stuff is definitely heavier, more powerful (to counteract the weight), safer (hence heavier), easier to drive and a lot more fuel efficient that the stuff I pedalled about in 30 years ago. Also, maybe it's a function of getting older that you now drive more sedately than you used to 30 years ago (I know I do), so you've slipped into the age of our parents, driving our Ford Granada, Rover SD1 or (in my case) Fiat 132 equivalents, and thinking the modern hatches aren't a patch on the cars of your youth.
I think a lot of it might be a generational thing.

The * comment above - I've had a look at your PH garage, all reasonable modern with a couple of interesting vehicles in there. I'm really not sure your post above reflects your current cars; I think does the opposite.

I get what you're saying about getting older and driving slower (That's me for sure) and having rose tinted glasses. But technology progressively makes cars faster and more capable and the roads we drive them on are static and don't change. Even before you get to increased congestion, driving for fun being antisocial, and environmental concerns, there was already a period in history, around the turn of the century where performance cars reached a point where they just became too fast and too competent to be truly fun driving on the road.

Also, *ahem* 3/4ths of my current garage might be a mickey take.... wink

I'm about a third of the way through my issue so far and am thoroughly enjoying it, and glad i subscribed.

Also, is there a prize for spotting the uncredited contributor? I only ask as the introduction page to the Ferrari 550 article is pure Troy Queef... biggrin

Mine's turned up, and it's very impressive and very high quality.

For a magazine called 'Strada', there's a bit too much corsa in it for me, but without that filler it wouldn't be thick enough to level my wobbly dining table, so it's not all bad.
