M5 warranty cost?

I would just stick to BMW one
Yup, I would agreeThat said, depending on value, mileage, provenance, risk appetite etc, seriously consider running without one and putting the money in the bank instead. At £1,700 a year, after three years you've got a big enough chunk in the bank to manage everything bar a total blow up or gearbox explosion.
Appreciate that it doesn't give you the same 'worry free motoring' feeling but it's what I do on my M5 and although there's been some tasty bills, so far I'm well up.

Just got rid of my F10 M5 as I needed a 7 seater, embarrassingly I spent more on the BMW warranty and road tax than I did on fuel. I only got it last May, did a 2000 mile road trip around the highlands and another 2000 miles on a few long trips to Wales etc but other than that the car pretty much sat on my drive untouched. My warranty cost £119 a month for named component, with £250 excess and no recovery. Of course my car had zero faults, only a warning saying the battery was getting low after sitting untouched for 3 months, it fired straight up though and was golden.
My car was a 2015 with 42000 miles and FBMWSH when I took out the warranty.
