There was a programme on barges on BBC Radio 4 yesterday afternoon. I think they were at the Humber estuary and included news to me that the govt. post WW2 wanted people to use motorised lorries instead of sail barges to move freight and incentivised mechanisation.

It’s a pity they never went ahead and put a V8 in the Imperial. Really deserved it for a flagship motor.

It's bon amusement, as the tone of bargeistes sticks out a mile on their ads!

Such an incredibly honest ad, I'd say the majority of sellers wouldn't have mentioned those possible engine issues.
Damn, I wish I could take that on, I've wanted a 4 litre X308 for a long time!
That's a 3.2L V8...
Wow ! topped out at less than thread minimum

Overbudget, but this sounds like a great car from a good seller, and one of the very last V12 engined Jaguars sold

Where would thread suggest advertising a 2013 XJR? 575 horses to start with and an exhaust that's been played with probably increasing that a bit, not mine I hasten to add.

Well... after asking about the repair to the door ding on my XC90, I was surprised to get an email off a Pher asking about it. Soooooo, my suggestion is to take a close up picture of a dent or scuff on the car and ask about repairs on this thread = *Guaranteed sales success!

*=this does not constitute professional car sales advice. The value of your "investment" may go down as well as up, unless it's a "guaranteed future classic with provenance", and then there is still no guarantee.

I feel hard done by - nobody PMd me about my 530d. Perhaps my post needed a picture of some rust?

I paid £2k for it, so not the end of the world. I really like these x308 jags. But as both I have owned have had engine problems should probably steer clear in the future. Is the old jag v12 better?

Feeling like a Lexus LS purchase as a tonic. And a boxster S.

Spurred on by the readers ride thread by the 18 yr old insuring a jag for less than an up! I was looking at these as my lad is 17 in a few weeks- he was quite interested in the possibility of avoiding the fiat 500 that his sister learned to drive in. Unfortunately i couldnt make the cheap insurance work

Here's a working link - the one above doesn't work for me.

Did they just not bother to wash the car, or is it really that crusty? I wouldn't even bother going to look at that one. I'd probably have doubts about the dealer too.

yuck.
That is rough as fk.

Red CLK looks fantastic.
Those 460s are as rough as a badgers arse, as my old man would say. There are plenty of well kept examples about - although prices are universally daft currently.

I could have sworn it was bidding at over £1k when I clicked on the link earlier - did someone cancel their bid? Or maybe I was once again trying to multitask and failing miserably.

If you don't care about it being perfect, that's a bargain purchase - the lottery now is whether the winning bidder will turn up. I need to sell my old XC90 too, if the replacement parking brake release cable I need to fit ever turns up, and thought about an ebay auction, but not sure I want the hassle.

Here is a picture of the broken cable, just in case anyone is interested. wink

Eesh, losing £1k is still pretty painful considering the length of time you've had it. What flavour of LS might you get? 460 for the win smokin
