Thread had a very good Friday and a welcome return to the fatale femmes.

Someone give Tom a commission.

A regular Friday article on Tales from the Road.

Reminds me of a regular article on social stereotypes that used to appear in the Guardian G2 section. Anyone remember what I’m on about? Can’t remember the title.

Friday is on form.

Olly's joke was superb. But first class results from Ian and Tobinen.
Seconded.

Exceptionally classy presentations.

I think these look handsome but I know thread doesn't love an Audi.

However it's an S6 and it's done plenty of miles, so hopefully it won't fall apart over night. Although I always think they should be faster.
The price is what it is, although may have benefitted from a different setting for the photos.

I have no interest in older cars really but this thread is my favourite on PH. No animosity or attempted one upmanship amongst posters, Friday art pictures and the standard of humour is top notch ( “ come in no 7, who wouldn’t “ is genius. )

Please don’t ever stop.

I like the clean lines of those.

‘Gearbox inspection.,’ you’d only do that if there was a reason to…

I have always been told buying a cheap a XJS leads to a wallet emptying world of pain. Still this looks rather tempting.

Excellent choice, we’ll enjoy the forecourt shot. And that godawful spoiler being shoved in a skip.

I’m interested, do you have any pics? Any other info apart from the list above?

An older pic is in My Garage, interior is grey leather.

I'm out at the moment, so can add a bit more detail later.

At least the a/c works properly as I got that refurbed last year smile

The V10 has a brave new owner - I expect a forecourt shot at some stage and probably some swearing about the cost of Audi parts.....

So after purchasing wsurfa’s broken S6 earlier this month (surprisingly with no gravel tax) I decided that didn’t have enough cylinders or troublesome Audis, hence the purchase this morning shown below in it’s usual environment.

V8 Quattro Sport, Bose Sound, Sports Air Suspension, Tiptronic Steering Wheel, Phone Prep, Heated Seats and Folding Mirrors (that don’t fold). Controversially it drinks from the Devil’s pump.

88K £1900 from a great dealer in Sevenoaks, he’d obviously done that maths that I hadn’t.

It drives fantastically, but slowly, as it has a few issues. inlet manifold flaps being the main one, and a stuck inoperable MMI system, which was great on the (fuel included) trip home because it was sooo quiet.

Booked in with Dean at 4 Rings Dartford mid month to give me a full diagnosis wallet raping.

The D2 A8L 4.2 V8 Quattro (bought from this thread in March last year) is going to have to give up it’s Final Edition alloys and revert back to it’s hilarious 17” 5 spoke it came with pictured below in it’s unbarry’d state.

Anyone know if these work in a W211?

And old-school V8 Rangie, currently within thread, looks to have had a fair bit done to it. I love these - wish I'd never sold my old one. frown

They're probably nowhere near as good, but I think these are much classier than the moderns. Guess I'm an old giffer.

New A8 looks great.
What’s the dealer in Sevenoaks you mentioned?

Did the ULEZ make you think twice before jumping at it? Seems like you’re not far from it. Something making me think twice about the diesel vs petrol.

Good luck with the “service “

Is this this the most bogo spec S Class ever?

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11990707

20 year old S280 No memory seats.

Is the fact that it's only 63k miles enough to merit asking 5 bags?

I didn't think so either, but it's a nice basic motor.
