This month's topic is Serene.

Typically my mood when I'm out for a nice 6am walk..."calm, peaceful, and untroubled; tranquil"

Rules:

The photos taken must be your own work and can be taken at anytime, but please only get out with your gear if you have safe opportunity etc.

The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.

You can only submit one, and only one photo.

The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.

Entries and discussion on this single thread please.

All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.

Photos entered can be as large as you like, although bear in mind if too large, it may not be possible to see the whole image on some screens. Links to larger versions are permissible.

One of my favourite landscapes is still water at silly o'clock in the morning. The silence is deafening, as I'm usually set up even before the birds wake up.

I have a few from Lake Vyrnwy, one of my favoured haunts, but this one sticks in my mind as being utterly silent, no doubt helped by the thick snow.

I've just returned from Skye and something I'd never done is walk 'up into the clouds', but I ended up doing this every day due to the weather there. After being a little bit worried about what it would be like, it was actually remarkably serene (especially being alone) and this photo reminded me of that.

I make no apologies for image quality (or lack thereof). My equipment is limited to a cheap, ageing Tokio Phablet II smartphone. Comments/critique of composition welcome, though...
