Trying a bit hard, but it does look aggressive.

Old enough to remember UR quattros and A8s on the road.... try remembering what a standard Audi coupe looked like and a A6 compared to a A8..

People not interested in cars could tell a UR with wide boxy arches , bonnet vents, a spoiler , 15" alloys (considered fairly large at the time) and a howling 5 cylinder. It was and still is very much in your face.

Likewise the A8, longer, wider , huge alloys (at the time) it was NOT subtle.

As for ABT , the RS is a hell of bit of kit to start with and making it even more bonkers takes some doing.

Evidently a fair number of people who don't like Audi's are obviously unaware of ABT and the quality of their parts. They do all kinds of products for VAG cars from body kits to engine components and alloy wheels whilst also building some rather successful DTM cars.

That there bloke Martin Smith from Sheffield certainly knew good design. Tasteless sporty Audi conversions have been around ever since the Ur-Quattro. Walter Treser was responsible for some

Must admit, I quite like the Treser alloys though.

The teenage part of me really really wants one. The adult not so much. Barring becoming a pharmacy baron (not the actual pharmacy delivery agent), rapper, local builder with an unexplained large pile of cash or footballer. My guess is that you could ask Abt if they would install an upgraded drive train. Being German, they would go "Mmm yes, of course" because they aren't stupid.

Reminds me of the 'Zender' Mk3 Escort body kits, or the RS1600i.

A collection of parts, bolted onto the car, without any thought to whether they compliment the aesthetics of the original car.

I know Abt are a quality company, and I don't doubt that the extra parts are well made. They just look very out of place.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It's like they are trying way too hard nowadays. The elegance of the earlier models (particularly the C5 and C6) has gone.

The RS6 is a fantastic bit of kit, but it's a crying shame that it's replaced subtlety with "look at me!" frown
Kind of see where you're coming from, but surely the S6 would be the one to get if the RS6 is too shouty for you?

It seems like you are putting both type of cars into the same class there, so apologies if I have misunderstood.
The former is a Max Power type special and instantly forgettable, while the latter is a standard car which is highly regarded and some would say a classic.
They are simply not comparable in any way.

Too much and too far, the standard RS6 looks massive on the road and is pretty garish.. this just amplifies that.

Much like the standard car, it looks like it’s been built for the “It’s a Stage 6.34 bro” tuning and YT brigade... so it’s no surprise to see this bloke’s made an appearance with one:

In "real life" the current RS6 is huge, must present real day to day issues just getting around small UK roads and car parks etc. Shame as a RS6 was always the dream car for me.

Mmm, I thought that too. Take an RS6, remove the RS badging, install the Abt mechanicals and hello sleeper.

The Abt bodykit looks like the result of one of those meetings where no-one can decide what to leave out of the design, so they just do it all. Styling overkill on steriods.

Do Thule do roof bars for this? If they don’t, I’m not buying it.

Seriously, I recall seeing an RS6 accelerating in anger from a round about on a dual carriageway. Seeing a huge car move so fast was impressive.

What’s with the serrated fins down the back pillars? They remind me of anti-static strips from the 80s.
