RE: Neverending two-car story | PH Footnote

Complaining about a two auto garage is missing the point Dan.
Manual gearbox is ALL about engagement and interaction with the drive.
Auto for the daily and a manual gearbox for the fun weekender/track day two seater.
The A110 was always going to fail due to this simple point.
Before you and the other three owners that bought one say it, I’m sure it does drive well but think how much more engaging it would have have been with three pedals.

Look at the split of sales in the 718 for auto vs manual. If there wasn't a manual there would still be most of the sales, and most likely a good proportion of the people who bought the manual would have bought the auto if a manual wasn't available, not bought something else entirely.Lowish sales of the A110 in the UK have nothing to do with the gearbox, no matter what the vocal "real drivers" club likes to say. If it was available with a manual they'd find another reason not to buy it.
Is a three car garage cheating?
Range Rover Velar P380 R dynamic for daily use
Aston Martin V12 Vantage S for ‘supercar’ (sort of, almost…) fun
Porsche 911 (997.2) GTS Cab for top down fun
If I had to go to two cars I reckon the vantage coupe and 911 would go and be replaced by a V12S roadster? Maybe.

Mine is...
2005 Accord 2.4 Tourer Exec. Bags of space, comfy, still drives like new (no, really, it does). Auto, so easy commuter / cruiser / uni run / holiday wagon / bike collector etc...
2009 S2000. High days and holiday day trips. One of the last. 56k miles, OEM+ spec
Love them both! In fact, had the Accord 4 years next month, the longest I have ever owned a car. Sometimes think about changing it, but a) what for and b) why? More money for what benefit?
