Morning all. Biggles junior is trying to book a driving test, ideally for around Nov/Dec. He has been learning since last Sept, Covid obviously stopped him for a lot of this time.

As many will have experienced, the DVLA website just shows no availability for each date that we punch in.

My understanding is that they show slots for the next 24 weeks. Is there a given day/time when new slots get released, or do any of the online third party booking sites add any value in searching for slots?

I knew things were bad due to covid but was hoping the system might be slightly more usable. Currently looking at spending several days trying for individual dates at the test centre otherwise. Thanks for any ideas…

I'm currently trying to book in for my A Motorcycle tests... Same issue, no availability.

The system updates at 7am on Mondays but cancellations can pop up at anytime but usually only a few days to a week before the test date.

I'm checking at 7am in the morning, lunch time and evening everyday at the moment.

This worked for my colleague's offspring, with the caveat that when I inquired what they were up to this weekend the reply was "spending effing all of it giving the effing offspring more driving practice so that they have a chance of passing next week,"

Need to book a test anywhere and anytime and use the cancellation service. Just remember there will be lots of competition for cancellations from instructors and other people like yourself

Not affiliated at all but my son used a driving test cancellation website, I think it was called driving tests 4 all or something similar.

Anyway he booked his test for a long way away, the service autobooked him for a date as soon as it comes available (you can choose the parameters such as rough time, rough day, location etc)

He ended up getting one on a Saturday , he went there and failed for a a trivial reason. Rebooked it, again for months away, the rebooking service had him another test the same day , for the Monday. He went there and passed.

This was october last year. Best £10-20 (?) you can spend (you only pay once, even if you fail 100 times you can carry on using the service)

One of the only niche/small websites I can say is actually worth people’s time and money

Thanks. Good to hear that these sites work. Will give it a go once we have a slot and he is closer to being ready. Just need to help him practice now!

I wish to get the motorcycle licence ASAP. Planning to do the CBT next week. Can we use our own bikes for A test? I'm on my international licence as of now.

Is the test booked only once for both module 1 and 2?
