I wonder if people got all upset about that number plate when it 1st came out?!
4x posts from you on this one number plate thread alone insisting that 'Other people' are obsessed over THEIR opinion of number plates.

Are you sure you don't just have an issue with other people not liking the same things as you?
Ooh I've got a stalker, how nice.

I just get flash backs of Design Technology in school when you made your name out of acrylic, and glued it on more acrylic. I can only assume those who have them didn’t do this at their school?

Looking at angle from the side does in affect make the type face bolder, as the face and depth of the letter can be seen. an example is the P and the I in this plate, on non 4D they would be the background between them, on the 4D the black of raised P “touches” the . this is at an extreme angle but I can see why it annoys people, conversely I also see why people see no issue as it’s only at an extreme the issue occurs.

Reminds me of Fuzzy Felt.

I am sure I saw these a while back in Malaysia or China... so many I thought they must be standard.

No matter how nice the car is, I only ever think "knobhead" when I see them. It usually coincides with a badly spaced plate too.

I've got a 6 digit reg, and it's on a short plate.

However, It's legal font, and not spaced like a knob (It's got no central space after the numbers, granted).

I'd rather not st myself every time I see a police car drive past. It's possible I'll get pulled, yeah. But it's a damn sure less likely than a blatantly mis-spaced, tinted, 4D plate.

So more knobbish than a 4D plate with correct spacing then? Or equally morally reprehensible as a standard spaced 4D plate? What is the greater villainy - the raised lettering, or the spacing? Tricky, this.

These are due to become illegal come September. Well if they have another colour under the black I believe. I have a mate who works in traffic and has these hideous plates and is moaning because he’s been told to change them.

It also means that 3D gel plates are also up for the chop too.

Fortunately, or un-fortunately depending on your views, if the number plate complies with the most recent legislation they will still be legal come September. I believe as long as it has the BS145d mark in the corner you will not have to order new plates.

The plates were getting a bit big when they registered the gazzillionth car with numbers only, so they had to improvise.
