The regular Maybach is rather grim, but this is very lovely.

That’s a lot of money but I’d love to cruise in this to Istanbul....my monthly run!

I love it.

Never knew it existed but just found a nice article on the Car magazine website about it.

Price new £595k+VAT according to that source...
You're telling us that the car has actually appreciated in value since new?! Surely every other Maybach has depreciated by around 80% from new, even the Zeppelin editions are worth around 30% of what they were new. On that basis this is worth around €200K tops even with it's rarity factor.

Not my cup of tea this. If I saw it on the road I would know it's a Maybach but wouldn't know enough about the brand to know they didn't make this as a production car. I would think it's a rather ugly £80k to £120k car probably owned by someone who could have a CL55/CL65 but wanted something a little rarer.

Still better looking than the truly hideous G-Wagen Intruder concept that DK are still trying to offload:

And we've achieved peak stupid, ugly, impractical, hideously expensive, pointlessness.

All those "performance SUV" manufacturers can stop now.

Saw this prototype (was it a prototype, not sure) go up the hill at the FoS. It certainly head an impressive footprint and appearance. Was awesome to see and hear it.

Not sure if this is exactly the same as the one for sale. I do think the money is crazy, but what an amazing car it was, even at FoS it stood out.
Definitely a hint of Bernie and Leepu from "Chop Shop" going on there.

That is truly hideous. That's been up for sale for a while I think. Wasn't it featured here on PH some months back? £175k really is having a laugh.

People will always build weird combinations of things just because they can. The world would be a duller place without them, but trying to offload it as something 'collectable' is questionable. Just because you can doesn't mean you should!

This is what happens when a Barbie 4x4 mates with a Range Rover Evoque convertible. It really looks like the sort of Frankenstein creation you'd expect to see on Top Gear, introduced with the phrase "How hard can it be" or "What could possibly go wrong".

Most rappers now seem to be name-checking "Rovers". I assume they mean Range Rovers but I do gain amusement by assuming that the line in Closer by The Chainsmokers that says:

"So baby pull me over in the back seat of your Rover that I know you can't afford"

is actually about a badly faded Rover 2000 SD1 with all the panels a different shade of red and, before they shortened it, was actually:

"So baby pull me over in the back seat of your Rover that I know you can't afford to get through the MOT as all the sills are rotten, the electrics are playing up and the head gasket's blown."
This really made me laugh! As someone who once sat on the hard shoulder of the M25 in an SD1 2600 with a blown head gasket, I can identify with this!
I had visions of the hideous ittle 216 saloon 'assembled' by BL in the 80's. Build quality which would shame a Russian tractor.

IMHO, I am not convinced about 2 door versions of limos...
even the effortlessly cool 600 struggled to pull off a 2 door coupe.

This is the One-off Maybach Exelero, commissioned by Fulda to test and advertise their Carat Exelero high performance tyre range.

That's going to be fun opening the door in a multi-storey carpark and trying to a) get out and b) avoid dinging the car next to you!
The owner would probably say 'What's a multi storey car park?'.....

Apparently they open quite easily according to the advert and as for the boot:

"The electronically operated boot lid shuts perfectly" so all you asda essentials will be well looked after.

Only 6 pictures in the ad, none of the rear interior, bit poor when trying to sell a 700k+ car.

Not quite sure who would be the target market for this, but it's not me, even with a 100 million lottery win.

Perhaps the rear carpet mats are even filthier than the ones in the front.

When I first saw this article at 00.15 hours I’d been unable to sleep. Which May account for why on first glance I thought it was one of those tasteless things built by Cadillac, and with a value of ‘three bob and a conker’.
Looking at it again, now fully awake, I still stand by the above: the decimal place has obviously been put in the wrong place and even at €7950 it’s too expensive…
This is worthy of a long slow facepalm. I’m lost with this website, not thinking this for the first time either. How have these thoughts happened inside someone’s mind?
Why are people having a go at Augustus?

He has an opinion, as he is allowed and encouraged to on PH.

You may or may not agree with his opinion; unlike him I quite like the looks but I agree with him the price is hilarious.

That's my opinion. If you don't like someone having a different opinion to you I suggest you leave the forum to avoid upsetting yourself further.
Nothing wrong with the opinion that it's overpriced at all, there is only ever going to be a limited amount of folks who could afford it let alone see the 'value' in it - if any. The fabricated story used to exaggerate the opinion, in an attempt to be this thread's Jeremy Clarkson, is a proper cringe fest though.
Are we to assume then Mr Windsock that at £7950 you wouldn't buy it?

I remember seeing one for sale in the UK years ago with red leather for something like £200k. Must've been about 10 years ago now though

Count me out, the door sill covers are too short by about 7". I guess they forgot to extend those bits from the saloon version, although they did add a "coupe" sticker.
