Just seen this in our local ‘grumbled’ facebook page

‘If you don’t ask, you don’t get…
Would anyone consider lending me their nice car for 3 hours on Saturday from 4pm?

I’m fully comp, clean licence, 24 years driving experience including 10 professionally.

Ideally looking for a Mercedes, BMW, Audi saloon or SUV type car and not more than 3 years old.

I’m finding it difficult to find a car hire company with local availability and I’d be happy to pay a fee for your trouble.

Cue the laughing reactions…’

Seems wrong on so many levels.....!

Would you lend your ‘nice’ car to a stranger.
I wonder what your insurers might say!
Amuses me also that if it’s not one of those three, it seems it’s not ‘nice’ enough!

Who ever lends it will never see that again, why bother nicking cars when you can get them delivered with the keys.

Intrigued by their comprehension of what ‘fully comp’ actually means, unless they have a fancy whizzo bolt on traders policy.

It's been a while since Ive hired a car but Avis prestige have some 'flash' nice stock, hired a GLC from them a few years back, they had Range Rovers and Jag F Types available from stock as well.

Our local enterprise has a few nice BMW 3/5 series and Merc C/E class.

He probably thinks he has comprehensive insurance cover until he crashes your nice car then realised he has TP cover at best to drive it - and no money to pay for the obscene repair costs which come with "nice cars" with bumpers full of parking sensors, lane assist cameras, radar cruise control sensors etc etc etc.

Dream on sunshine.

I suspect he's been talking to someone online and may have been liberal with describing his wealth - and now he has his one and only date and can't show up with a flash car with an Enterprise sticker in the quarter window.

Should put that guy with the Bentaya in touch with him "sure you can borrow my car, when you're done, please can you drive it down the Continent for me because I can't be arsed"

Have a look at the webite Turo, you can hire a car fully insured for as little as £50.
That does have a sting in the tail though.

Yeah close, I don’t think of it as Leeds to be honest.

Will be for a school prom, I suddenly get messages from people I hardly know asking if I can do them a favour.

Ah yes, that caper! I’m glad mine grew up before we imported that idea from the good old US of A.
Though it does add another level of ridiculousness, when the kids start getting some stick from their mates because dad put an advert in FB to get someone else’s car!
Mind you I’m surprised it wasn’t a Tesla he wanted, not one of these polar bear killing ICE things.

Enterprise does indeed have a performance car section. We turned up at Heathrow to pick up our car and there were a couple of Lambos, Aston Martin, C63AMG Merc, a Ferrari etc

That request would firmly fall in the “get stuffed” camp.

Most are scruffy sheds now though because they haven't been able to replace with newer stock because of restricted supply.

Rejected a 69 plate M5 hire car the other day whilst my GT4 was having some recall work. The M5 was an absolute shed.
