Looking at that front end I bet shares in black plastic have sky rocketed …looks awful!
It's the same with the RSQ8, for a 100K car you're getting an awful lot of cheap black plastic on the front.

Well done Audi, but its a little late, this is a fossil fuel guzzler, why owhy, this should be an electric car, no good filling up our scrap yards in 5-10 years with these ICE models when you could have roads and Autobahns filled with these beauties run by electric, and Audi could be servicing and repairing these Electric cars. Instead you will be having Shelves full of spares for ICE cars, where are the economics in that Audi?
Your username and the car you currently own makes me wonder why you are even bothering to look at this thread?
It obviously does not interest you in the slightest so is your intention purely to antagonise?
Dude, don't feed the troll.

He clearly loves a leccy car and anthing with an ICE will be the anti-christ to him.

Nice to see an interesting petrol engine smile

The styling is very… “look at me, notice me and see how aggressive I look”.
No doubt Audi know their market well and understand how to appeal to prospective owners.

Each to their own and all that smile

EV4me is taking some stick here...but I think he's right.

Is this new RS3 really "peak petrol"? Not in my mind it isn't.

It looks OK inside and out, but maybe a bit too gauche.

I have an old B7 RS4 and I've been toying with replacing it...if I was going to do that with a petrol car it would need to be truly "peak petrol". And no matter how powerful a 5cyl might be, nor the notional historic links to Audi's past, I'm really not sure it could replace what I have.

This RS3 looks like a bit of an evolution of a line of cars whose writing has been on the wall for some time, rather than a two fingered final salute to show all that was good and great about a tank full of super unleaded.
I don't regard the RS3 itself as the peak, that's just silly. This last couple of generations of cars generally probably do represent peak petrol.

Look at the power outputs, performance etc. They are unlikely to be beaten.

It's like steam being replaced with diesel and electric.

You're right, I'd rather have the B7 RS4 too. It will still be appreciated when buying petrol is a planned activity.

I always think that with the RS Audis, you get fairly wealthy folk buying them as its an Audi which is a solid middle class brand, its a bit fun, has a nice interior and is pretty easy to live with. Your parents/in laws wont be offended, can turn up anywhere and not look too flash or a massive bellend.

But not sure if a lot realise what they are potentially opening themselves up for as they are the favorite of certain elements in society, depends where you live I suppose.

Might look better in the flesh, and in better colours. But on first impressions, I'm not keen.

Like all A3's, the interior is awful.

Such a shame Audi's styling has gone down this route. More so the interiors.

Think I'd rather pay a bit more, buy an A45 S without the styling pack.
I would rather pay a lot less and get a Yaris GR.......which I did.

Dont care about badge or interior plastics, just fun of driving.....I suspect im in minority so I suspect these RS3s will massively outsell the yaris GR
So did I.

I don't think it has much to do with being in a minority or not. Different people have different priorities or more to the point a set of (often conflicting) priorities. The Yaris is a much smaller car with 3 doors. Probably not going to work as well as a RS3 for family use for example.

Good as it is, if fun was my first priority the Yaris wouldn't get a look in, particularly at £33k.

The Yaris GR is an S1, not an S3 and certainly not an RS3 equivalent.

Interior, ride, outright power and pace the Yaris would still be waking up Tuesday morning when the RS3 was leaving work on a Friday afternoon,

It depends on what you are doing with it really. It has better suspension, a better 4wd system and is significantly lighter, so it’ll do very well on some roads.

I’m close to certain that the Toyota will be more enjoyable too.

Yes, the Audi will be quicker 0-60, it’ll probably even keep up with my Range Rover on that measure, but it’s never really been a sporty car.

GROAN! Will we ever have another article on a hot hatch or a sub-£50k sports car where the GRY bores don't show up! I saw some numpty on Tw@tter the other day boasting that he had folded his seats down and put something in the back of it, because it's "so usable". It's a bloody hatchback, it should be!!

So you don’t want people discussing other cars from the same sector then, on this car discussion forum?

That’s a bit strange.

Buy I don’t have a Yaris.

Have you actually driven one to have this weird dislike of them?

What's with the awful trend of having half the rear bumper splashed in black honeycomb plastic???? Usually encompassing the rear fog lights?

Looks awful

Imagine being so bad at the internet that you desperately want to make a clever meme but can't even work out how to edit the clipart text on a stock image so you resort to explaining the joke in your post.

I have gone from a GT3 Porsche to the GR Yaris and have my name down for this new RS3. I don't think you can put true petrolheads into car type boxes. I buy cars that speak to my heart regardless of price or level of interior plastic.

Do you think the people who lease these on three year deals care that much?

Audi have got this last one or two generations of ICE cars and make their really big profits upselling to faster high end models such as this. Why wouldn't they sell them?

Personally if I buy (lease?) a new car it will be an EV.
