Do we genuinely know if the lad on the bike did anything to provoke the old boy? Other than trying to pass him on a loud bike (which is clearly Grade-A antisocial behaviour and he should have received an ASBO while being paraded through town then strung up in the stocks)?
Whatever it may or may not have been, then it likely falls short of deserving retributive justice in the form of being run over by a car.

Young biker lad could have been much more creative in getting away though.
Yes I thought that too, he didn't even use the major advantage a bike like that has over a car.
being easy to find somewhere to park?

The fact the driver was sentenced to time in prison suggests to me its pretty unlikely the response was provoked in any way, let alone warranted.

Love this but heartbreaking that the tracky wearing parasite wasn’t badly injured. Hopefully his dirt bike provides him with a life changer in the future.
You should be ashamed of yourself for saying something like that! eek
But of course you won't be.

From reading a couple of articles it seems the oik slapped his wing mirror (a common thing when you swerve at bikers either deliberately or carelessly)

Not necessarily. The courts have always taken a dim view of people taking the law into their own hands, as it apparently undermines our law and enforcement system (you may say they're already doing a good job of that). Similar to PTCOJ.

As for slapping the wingmirror - if that was in response to the chap swerving out, then arguably it was provoked and the biker was blameless. Probably a young cocky oik (we've all been there!), but still blameless.

Well at least he was legal. Round here you frequently get kids on dirt bikes with no helmets and no number plates, on the road... frown

This came up on my YouTube feed

https://youtu.be/3ERSS9PlBNc

The dashcammer appears to be some sort of moron and actually cause most of the issues himself.

Could only watch a few seconds of the first clip. What a horrible accent! The fire engine was about half a mile away! The most typical of DCW’s. What an idiot

That last clip is amazing. I can sort of understand someone with a fragile ego, in the heat of the moment, insisting they are in the right regardless of the circumstances although "I'll put it on youtube and see what they have to say" is still an hilariously pathetic thing to say to anyone. But, how on earth does Phil get home, review that footage and still think he was right?

I find it unlikely that the OAP just randomly swerved at him for riding down those wide chevrons.
I dont know either if there was anything previous to cause this, but I definitely do not find it unlikely that a car driver might swerve towards a biker for no other reason than they were unhappy about being overtaken.
This st happens and I have had it done to me in the past...admittedly it was rare but it did happen.
Yes I've had swervers for daring to overtake on 60mph road, clear view and would have been nice clean overtakes. Had swervers (usually pootling at 40mph) in the MX5 and the RS but given the general standard of driving and level of self-centred ttdom are so endemic around here, that I'm sure there is a venn diagram overlap correlated strongly with swervers and the M&S Food store users, so much so that I'm expecting / planning in case of a swerve.

Didn't the blue Fiat pull out right in front of him and then start getting obstructive when, predictably, she was beeped ?

I'm not Phil by the way! laugh

Yes, but Phil was clearly speeding. Fiat drivers view was blocked by parked cars, so Phil should have seen it coming.
I don't think someone's in any position to start blaring the horn like that when they're speeding in built up areas. If he was driving considerately the non event would have been a non event.

First one at 00:17 totally preventable, I always keep a good eye on cars on my left and right on mini roundabouts, if that DCW couldnt see that and stop, shouldnt be driving.

Not sure the speed is an obvious factor since the blue fiat was joining a major road from a minor road and supposed to give way. If she'd looked properly she wouldn't have pulled out. Sure it's a mistake but don't take umbridge if you pull out without looking and then get beeped.

Defensive driving would've stopped that for sure, however the Merc is another one who pulled out without looking. If you do that then don't be surprised when a less 'defensive' average driver runs into you. Standards out there aren't great as we see again and again in these clips.

Better to give way at roundabouts and junctions than pull out anyway and expect a "better" driver to anticipate the future and take evasive action.

But anyway I appreciate these threads are all about attacking the DCWs irrespective of fault so crack on...

Spot on, no point making your point and coming a cropper, I dont even bother honking now, if someone screwes up, the deed is done, I just move on. Standards are pretty crap these days.
