That rear spoiler can't be original can it ? Looks a bit Halfords.
Aren't these the model where everything is bespoke on it ? = a fortune to maintain ?

(No idea if the price is good/bad however....)

Update on the LS430 I bought. Got a new y piece custom made to retain the original cat. Sounds so much better without the blow and no more EML. Happy days.

How "very easy" were you driving to get that figure?

My XF with the same engine barely cracked 30MPG at a run of 50mph and then 70MPH. I suspect I'd been to have it towed by something to crack 40.
XF is the heavier car I think.

Bloody love it here though, I have to keep pinching myself.
Post away. Thread needs all the input we can give it.
Yes please.
Go on then, here's exotic glamour for you, we've driven up to the North coast this morning, to see the sea of Japan. It's been cold, wet & miserable and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

Joetsu, twinned with Grimsby (or it should be).

We followed the coast West for a while then headed back inland.

View from the Starbucks at Hakuba, not quite ready for skiing, but maybe in a week or two.

I’m also really enjoying 21st post. Most of what we see from Japan is the neon lit cities.

I’m liking, the rural/suburbia posts, the other side of Japan we rarely see, oh and some great cars/machines.

Me too. Loving the updates and photos from Our Man In Japan.

Fascinating place, I'd love to visit.

Friday I'll put some stuff up, that's allowed right? I don't want to get warned or banned for being OT.

This thread should be seen as a conversation, it might veer off topic occasionally, but it eventually leads back to barges after an amusing/interesting diversion. Take the diversions away and you lose the sense of community. Post away!!!!

Yes, post away. You can always add that the car is for sale and the info paper fell off down the rabbit hole... hehe

This guy bought and collected his RWB porky (not very bargy, but...) in Japan and made a trip as well.

^ WHS whilst some of the previous "Friday Deviations" (or Deviants) have been "Cars and Girls" (an inevitably risky content) and probably incurred the wrath of the Moderation and Admin team I can't see the odd "Far Eastern Tin" content upsetting them to much.......

That said I really do think it could be done with a lot more variety and content in a separate thread in the right subsection wink

I follow a thread about the new TVR - you know, the new Griffith that was launched to the public in the last decade and has yet to appear for sale to the public. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
We regularly wander off onto all sorts of other subjects, including other cars, greenhouses, vegetables, engineering and anything else that will fill the gap while waiting for something to happen that actually relates to the car.

Frankly, it is all the more entertaining for it.

We are presently on page 218 of volume 3 smile

So do please tell me about Japanese cars we don't see over here'

You sound a sensible chap. Just delete any photos you may have taken of Japanese ladies in red shoes sitting in estate cars wth open tailgates and you'll be just fine.

Enjoying your travelogue, so keep it clean. biggrin

That used to be the case here, the place was a bit random, always entertaining and really fast-moving. Then some heavy-handed 'stay on topic' warnings started, followed by the banning of some thread regulars. That started the grumbling about moderation which was itself heavily moderated and that was the beginning of the end really; 1-5 has been on life support ever since.

Japanese posts are all the more welcome as a result.

So...I don't think I have seen one of these cheaper...

Let's pretend you haggle them down to £5k...

It is not going to be perfect, but with 11 months MOT could you possibly lose out? If the engine were to blow up, you could just part it out and if it fails the next MOT, you surely could just sell as is, for pretty near the price you paid?

I was going to mock, but you make a compelling case. Decent mot, high value in parts... lots to like.

It would have to be bought with the view...I am not spending a single penny on this...other than the cost of cable ties.

Enjoy/ fiddle for 11 months.

If it passes the next MOT jump for joy, of not...part out or sell as is.

Tell your grand kids you once owned a Maserati.

Agreed. If you were handy you'd probably keep costs really low. Even if you weren't I bet you'd recoup your investment if you had the time or inclination to break it. Or trust in Greater Fool theory and sell when it all got too distressing.
