Is Ian banned? I've not seen anything contentious
Doesn't take much for grumpy scrump to wield the ban hammer these days smash
Bang, bang, Scrumpy's banning hammer, came down upon his head

Clang, clang, Scrumpy's banning hammer made sure, he was dead.
I'm disappointed to see this sort of behaviour. Scrump is a fantastic member of our community, and we should all be grateful for him and his dedication to PH.

If a post on PistonHeads breaches our rules of posting, it will be removed by any one of our 30 moderators.

You shouldn't need reminding of rule 23 in our rules of posting: Abuse towards our moderators will not be tolerated and will result in your account being suspended or banned.

So it should really be no surprise if this sort of behaviour does result in action being taken against you.
Surely a bit of an overreaction.
Agreed.

Do PH's new owners not want a forum any more? It seems strange to buy it and ruin it rather than improving the classifieds to monetise it.

Love it, let's do a pH group buy and share ownership over the years.

That's rich coming from the guy who slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars.

As long as you tow the line you'll be fine...

^ that.

I am going back to France soon, hurrah! Still some good deals to be had. 605 3.0 @€3500. Not common now, most are a lot more. Or tin cans.

Talisman is still expensive. Curious really...

https://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/2163545746.htm
That looks like a decent price for that 605.

The Talisman advert has disappeared, but it reminds me that I had a Talisman for a month back in June 2019, in Initiale spec just like my Laguna. Refinement was a definite step on, but the gap wasn’t that big. Both were soundly beaten by the car my Laguna replaced, which was my inherited E39 528i. It was head and shoulders above even the Talisman for NVH and rolling refinement.

I don't think it looks too bad in that colour with those alloys paperbag

Those wheels do a good job of looking like a set of ten quid plastic hub caps
They are plastic hubcaps, however they wont be cheap.

You can just buy the centre plastic piece to give them the newer 5 spoke look I believe.

I guess I felt called to defend the thread. Maybe I’ll issue an apology tomorrow.

There does seem to be an intent now to make this thread as anodyne as possible and to stamp out its individuality. It's sad: this has long been my favourite thread on PH and I like its peculiar mixture and non-serious character. The response from PH management is bafflingly aggressive. This is not one of Piston Head's 'angry threads' and they should remember that.

My mother has a 3 cylinder non-turbo Peugeot 308. I took it out a few months ago, and noted that the speed limiter function was turned on. And set to 157mph!

Y'know I used to set the warning speed in my BMW 525i to 169MPH.

I never got it to beep though.

Of course not, I'm working at 3am on a Saturday.

Not even a glass of sweet sherry to get me through.

I'm still working, though having a bit of a career going is nice.

Pizza and faulty production environments, what a life.

190 miles done, lots of 60mph limit smart motorway on the M6 which is annoying. Just stopped at Stafford.... Onwards!

I've got a short one today, only 400km to Lake Bled. Likely to be another 30 degree day; thank goodness for aircon.
