Petrol prices- when does the madness end?
Discussion
The petrol prices app has been a game changer to be fair. I think it makes other independent retailers aware of how much competitors are charging and prices come down quicker.
Having said that the big flaw of course is that it requires individual input which can't be reliable when people chase points on leaderboards

I've said it once and I'll say it again.
Petrol prices will never go back to what they were before (£1.35pl Diesel). Government knows that people will just be happy once it goes below £1.50pl and we'll accept it as normal. Only way it'll change is if people refuse to pay it which they won't. If everyone didn't go to work because they refused to pay the prices then the Government would do something about it. Until then we'll get shafted and prices will just go up again.
Other than fuel duty and VAT, how are you assuming the Government has any control on fuel prices?Petrol prices will never go back to what they were before (£1.35pl Diesel). I'm a Shell shareholder and they haven't asked me what price petrol should be.

It has been bouncing back and forth between 139.7 and 140.9 for unleaded at my local for what seems like months now. Is that the new floor for pricing, do we think?
At this point I would genuinely be surprised to see it go any lower, although these things are always at the mercy of events, I guess.
I've been paying £1.37 for the last few months now, and the local Asda was £1.36 a few days ago.At this point I would genuinely be surprised to see it go any lower, although these things are always at the mercy of events, I guess.
Surprising how expensive fuel still is in some areas. Asda used to charge a flat rate at all their UK forecourts. Now they are on the whole still competitive, but have a few pence variations.
I visit a few places in Surrey and people carry on filling with with unleaded for 149.9 as though it's the norm.

Sure I paid £1.60+ for V Power last night. Surrey
Prices are no where near what I'm seeing on here. North of £1.40 for regular.
Yep, still seems to be 165-ish in the Shell stations around here (Surrey/outer SW London border).Prices are no where near what I'm seeing on here. North of £1.40 for regular.
I was in Kent last week and paid 165.9 there.
That's the kicker, even up here in the North East, at work in Hartlepool, standard e10 is still clocking in at £1.44 a litre (with the refinery just down the road). In the time it's drop something like 4p, at home in the back waters of rural(-ish) County Durham (i.e. Bishop Auckland) e10 is now down to £1.35, diesel is somewhere in the region of £1.54.

Ja, i was just going to say - the Jet garage near Bishop that always tries for the lowest prices - is now:UNLEADED 134.9
DIESEL 147.9
ULTRA UNLEADED 144.9
Which is the cheapest around? Gotta be at the moment.

On par with Sainsburys for petrol anyway and a good deal cheaper for diesel than any of the supermarkets, unfortunately they're a bit out of the way for me otherwise I'd happily support a franchise like them.UNLEADED 134.9
