I'm vaguely embarrassed to admit it, but the 911 Targa, as a genre of Porsche, is probably my favourite model. I had a toy one as a kid, and successive generations have honed a slightly Judith Chalmers image with the right amount of Porsche-ness into an appealing proposition. I'd probably have one with a lottery win.

I have driven a 991 targa and whilst it was nice to drive with the roof open there was a a lot of noise which as a long term thing would become annoying , that being said they do look the dogs

They're super sexy.

Seeing them advertised for list plus 40 means everyone else clearly thinks the same!

How much!?

Sadly Porsche has moved into unobtanium. 10 years ago I think it was something you could work towards and a realisable dream, but now, north of £100k for any 911 makes it hard to justify.

Same goes for the M3. Not so long ago you could get one for £700 per month with a couple of grand deposit. Now it’s more like £1000 per month and £10k deposit.

I'm not really a Porsche fan to be honest, just not my thing. This however could well be the perfect all round 911, maybe one of the best all round sports car/GTs full stop. A very appealing car indeed

Really?? An extra 175kg with electric motors and gubbins, and raising the CoG, all to lift a wee canvas panel?
Did customer research reveal that target punters don’t want to risk breaking their stick-on, manicured fingernails?
A 911 for Kardashians. Next!
Calm down, I know you have very high standards for cars but the impact on the CoG will be utterly irrelevant for a fun cruiser/GT like this. I am pretty sure that you wouldn't spot it behind the wheel. It's not a race car, no one will ever use all of the lat grip so if the higher Cog loses you 1%, it really doesn't matter.

The Targa is my favourite 911, although I would love to see a Turbo (S) version of the Targa.

I'm not a fan of the 911 Cabby - I don't like the gap that seems to be at the top of the waistline where the roof folds down.

Best looking 911 by a country mile.

Agreed. I'd like a coupé in that style, and would also be happy with the targa without all the gubbins and a lift-off roof panel.

The Targa 4 GTS does make sense in that it is an everyday car with slightly softer suspension than the coupe suspension. It won't leave you with a mouthful of fillings like my GT3 over the rough roads of Los Angeles.

A nice problem to have though, congrats!

My 992 Targa also has a small aerofoil on the top of front windshield. Takes a bit to get it deployed at first- hence most reviews say the buffeting is unbearable above 40mph….. which it is WITHOUT the aerofoil. Once extended it does the job (even over 70mph….. *allegedly) 👍

My neighbour next door just bought a 2023 Targa GTS new in September and it’s stunning. Some noise when he trundles down the driveway by mine.
