Somewhere, someone is already working on a body kit to make that thing look even worse.

I’ll wait for the convertible version. That will be awesome.

I guess this will be the platform for the next RR suv too ? And credit to the BMW design team, they've already made it look so hideous the RR team can take the afternoon off.

I do think that rather than emissions / tech / speed regs, a lot of benefit could come from just limiting max unladen weights that can be sold as a car.

In 2009, I stopped off near the Nurburgring for one night; during the day of arrival, there was a bunch of manufacturer testing going on at the Ring, and they were hooning around in the newly-released X5M, along with various others like ML63 AMG, Cayenne Turbos etc. I couldn't believe the speed the test drivers were carrying in such big cars, but also couldn't really get the point - huge amounts of tyre squeal as they drifted 2.5 tonnes through the curves. Just what you need for the school run.

I like that idea.

Tax based on weight and emissions would be interesting.

So weight acts as an x factor alongside the emissions to deliver the tax.

Weight reductions benefits every aspect of vehicles and their impact. Its been overlooked for too long by mainstream manufacturers

I love it, I'll be getting a mansory kit for mine, blacked out windows and stick my 'BO55 MAN' plate on it from my Cayenne. Then I'll hammer down the outside lane of the motorway forcing poor people to get out of my way by driving 2 foot from their rear bumper.

They just hired the guy from citroen not too long ago, which is why BMWs are starting to have the same slim headlights as a C4 cactus
Dare I say that the C4 Cactus is a far more pleasing design (to me) than any recent BMW except for the *previous* generation 2 series.

That's a pretty awful car.

Like the previous poster, these kind of cars seem very at odds with environmental focusses and seem to be the worst of both worlds; i.e. not a massive electric range but a huge weight etc.
