Memorable Cars / Smiles per Miles
Discussion
What is / was your most memorable car?
You were so fond of it.. you might look at it for ages parked..
Every time you got in it felt like a special occasion or celebration.
If you could do it all over you would etc.
Knowing PH a thread like this probably exists so this might get merged by admin.

My top 3 would be :-
1) The Challenger Hellcat I just sold. Too much power is almost enough.
2) Dodge Viper GTS. Too much torque is almost enough.
3) Roush 427R Mustang. A Mustang turned up to 11, supercharged, uprated brakes & suspension. Went and sounded awesome.
Honorable mentions go to :-
My first yank - a T-top 3.4 V6 Firebird.
My first V8 - a Mustang GT.
Guess I like my American Muscle.

My first 205 GTI 1.9, which was in Miami Blue and limited edition. I haven't been fond of another car quite the same since that one, first love I guess! I suppose being young and care free added to the good times back then too. I remember thinking if I had to chose between the car and the girlfriend at the time, i'd keep the car, that's how much I loved it
Had a Mk1 focus as a hire car when they were first launched. It was a poverty spec base model, but I couldn’t believe how nice it was to drive.
Also the first time I drove a Tesla model 3 performance. So much acceleration and so accessible as well. I know it’s a one trick pony, but still..

My Maserati Gransport that I owned for 5 years and still miss 4 years after letting it go. It felt special at any speed, sounded amazing (secondary cat delete and custom x-pipe), was fast enough without being too fast to exploit on the road and in my opinion looked stunning in the metal. I might buy another one day, I can't think of another car that comes close for specialness for the money

1 and 2 I'd love to own some day, definitely my kind of cars.
Memorable car for me is the Monaro, been 12 years now I think it is, so many memories, so many laughs, so many rear tyres. Love it.
This one for me - a 1963 Chev Belair, same colour as this one:
I bought it when I was 18 and owned it for 5 years and 30,000 miles. It was a fun car - lots of room for friends; a reasonably reliable, comfortable cruiser. I slept in it a few times, drove through 100 miles of snow storm one night, partied in it and regretted selling it. I didn't look after it very well either.

My MX5 NB 1.8S.
It was an absolute rot box, but it had coilovers and an LSD that worked. Did many track days, drift days and drove it to France twice. It caught fire, ate alternators and generally rusted before my eyes.
But what a fun car, every journey was enjoyable. I really do miss it.

My 106 Gti. I passed my test and bought a brand new T Reg 106 Zest with Alpine CD player and a sun roof. Had that for a few months and when it went in for its first service I got taken advantage of and talked into the GTi. I drove out of the garage a hour after popping in for an oil and filter service on the zest. Most expensive oil change ever. I was so excited I didn’t even notice it had a tape deck and I left my CDs in the other car.
I drove that thing so fast the bonnet rippled on the Bristol ring road. I loved that thing.

A Gran Turismo looks a great buy, especially in today's market of crazy s/h prices. Just not sure my testicles are big enough.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
