Most sources reckon 400-450ish.
I thought they'd be pretty well sorted when it came to CAFE regs considering their Hybrid range, but I guess their lack of EV's in addition to the flood of performance models they must have reached their 95g/km limit and don't fancy paying any fines.TrackNutz said:

+ Chip shortage
+ Macro economic climate

Blimey that's a tough read !
I gave up on several occasions and only kept going as I really like the car...
A veritable matrimonial bouquet of verbosity in order to state very little of any consequence concerning the subject of discourse in order to fulfil the editorial text length requirement.I gave up on several occasions and only kept going as I really like the car...
We can all do it, if we want.
Absolutely no mention of whether the torque dip and turbo-like throttle response have been ameliorated. It was those that made the car difficult for commuting and were of no import when trying to break it.
Glad I’m not the only one !
1) Yep, Cackett's writing is so painful and show-off... it's spread to most of Autocar's writers now, so I don't buy the mag anymore.
2) I had a GT86 for a year, pearl white and looked fantastic. I knew on the test-drive that the suspension was painful, I should have walked away. But I bought it (ex demo) - and not only was it bone-hard and tiring to drive because of that, but it had awful tyre noise. And everybody knows how bad the SW quadrant of M25 is, anyway.
3) So I hope that both of those have been improved for the GR...!

There's usually an amusing reference to Mrs Shed worked around the article in order to make a report on a grotty old smoker seem more amusing.
I'm sure I've given him a theme there.
It's definitely not this ffrench-cconstantine style - another one I'd usually swerve.
Then again, I do miss the dry, factual style of the older generation - even if interlaced with Byzantine prose per Len Setright. Often difficult; always rewarding.

The 2017 damper upgrade was a massive improvement. I recently swapped some 2019 dampers on my 2013 86 and it removed a lot of the harshness, so much better for daily use. Apart from that and the stiff when cold gear box the 86 one of the absolutely best fun road cars that are usable i ever come across. Ive driven porsches, fast hot hatches etc, but this really is so great. 2) I had a GT86 for a year, pearl white and looked fantastic. The 1gen was one of the best selling sports cars of its era, sadly the 2nd gen will likely sell a small fraction of that. With the shortages ongoing they will need to prioritise more high margin products than a cheap sports car.

Agreed. And LJKS could often be hilarious to offset the work required to get through his columns. This is just hard work without the reward!I'm sure I've given him a theme there.

Example: Article says “…but the joy of driving it (MX 5) is mostly nestled in its imperturbable, knowingly carefree attitude at moderate speeds. The new GR can do this, too - on smooth Spanish roads it floats along with note-perfect elan…”
= the MX 5 can be enjoyed at sensible speeds on the road, and the GR Is equally good at involving the driver even when not pressing on too”.
I know Nic gets some stick on here, and we do have to bear in mind of course that PH content is free but this one really was a slog!

Nothing to do with emissions, it's to do with incoming EU crash regs which would mean an expensive redesign of the front end which they can't be arsed to spend the money on unsurprisingly. For those who have missed out on the new car, give an old model a try that's had a few small tweaks, especially a different exhaust manifold, up pipe and remap. You won't have the headline power figure of the new car still but the removal of the torque dip makes a hugely improved car to drive. Definitely 1200 quid well spent on a second hand one.
Add in the MTEC shifter springs and Perrin shifter bush for an extra hundred quid and you get a much nicer gearshift than the slightly notchy standard shift.
I've had my BRZ for just coming upto a year and a half, as much as I'd like the new car, and i really want one badly, I'm not sure I could've justified one even if I could get one with doing the above mods and a few more extra. Plus I get the bonus of it being a rarer beast than the GT86.
Here's an obligatory picture for the sake of it
