Rare editions of normal hatchbacks

I’m enjoying this thread..
Beetle Repetitive Strain Injury:
Mention already of Mk2 Rallyes and Limiteds, but they also did a non-Syncro GTi G60:
Delta HF 4WD - seems to have been forgotten as not an “Integrale”:
E36 323ti
A3 3.2 V6 - somewhat overshadowed by the S3:
And another almost forgotten Reggie:
Re Clio Williams, it seems like the regular 1.7 16v has become the rare model

I think the rsi is rarer than the 16v also.
From memory, they did a 19 RSi too as an insurance friendly option?
Fiat Stilo Abarth?
Don't know how many were made but you don't see many around.
I do miss the one I had, lovely noise from the 5 pot and looked superb in my opinion, my 02 had every possible extra, pan roof, sat nav, leather nice high quality soft touch plastics and buttons throughout the cabin.
Despite their apparent rarity they've certainly not been caught up in the bubble for all things rare/performance related.

The MK5 Golf GTi Pirelli.220 sold in RHD form and has the most powerful engine of the Mk5 Gti`s. The mods were, different seats with the tyre tread moulded into the seats, different "Pirelli" wheels, different steering wheel and wheels, oh and of course Pirelli tyres,
Same engine as the Mk5 Edition 30 just a different trim when all said and done?Leins said:

Even more rare than the Visa GTI, you could at one point buy a 2 cylinder one with 652cc which I guess is 2CV sourced/based but with a heady 34 bhp.
We had one of those as well, they were the orignal 'piggy' nosed Visas! You could also get the Citroen LNA with the flat twin on the continent Volvo 360 glt a bit of a forgotten rarity, not really aimed at the demographic was it!!

Renault 5 “Baccara”
Peugeot 205 “Roland Garros” and “Gentry”
Posh versions of French hatches, Gentry was a defined, automatic 1.9 GTI engine with 90 bhp.
The Renault was a brown R5 with leather seats.
In the 80s/early 90s there were a plethora of hottish versions that (IIRC) were produced effectively for homologation purposes - 205/106 Rallye, AX Sport, Visa Chrono. with a sub 1.4 engine, twin carbs (no fuel injection) and handling straight from the gods.Peugeot 205 “Roland Garros” and “Gentry”
