Mmm a lot of hate. As is usual for PH.
I sold one a couple of years ago and people were fighting over it.
These later ones are really good - jeez, it even has aircon!
They are brilliant to drive and about the best thing off road. As the saying goes, don't knock it until you've tried it.

An old mate picked one up around 15 years ago for £400 quid.

It was stuck in reverse, but it didnt stop us taking it to some local muddy bits and showing up some landies. As they're struggling to get up the a hill we piss up it backwards.

Brilliant little thing until it set on fire.

These are seriously well respected, tough cars. I really like them.

Love it or hate it, nice ones are the equivalent of £16k in Russia now and silly money in Germany. Good luck with your sale Bramley Motors - it's the newest one with old school bumpers available.

25 bags for that. The world truly has gone mad. Appalling. A death trap too. And if you take it to the seaside it'll rust before your eyes. A truly hideous craft

Surrey poultry farmer’s wet dream. Bramley crowing about a whole lot of cockerel. Feather it is serious or tongue in beak I can’t discern. Either way it’s eggsactly right and I will be laying down a healthy deposit at dawn.

“ but details like the spindly handbrake, elementary dials and switches from a microwave give away the Niva’s true age‘
Does rudimentary fit the description better?
Anyhoo, the apples at Bramley have obviously been fermenting too long and the vendors allowing the resultant brew go to their heads.
Either that or they really need to halve the dosage of whatever it is they are smoking...

I had one of these as company transport when I worked in Azerbaijan back in the day.

Absolutely the worst thing ever on paved roads.

Absolutely the best thing ever off road in the oil fields.

Indestructible.

Is there something very special about that black one?

The German ones seem to start at €13k. OK, pre-registered, no radio or a/c but about 44% of the price of the one in the advert: https://home.mobile.de/ASRAUTOSERVICEEK#des_324231...

One with a/c for €15k: https://home.mobile.de/AUTOHANDELAWANGARD#des_3245...

25 grand, if it came with a certain dictators severed head nailed to the bonnet maybe.

Otherwise, just evidence that the world has gone mad.

Hope the dealer gets stuck with it who ever the dealer is they are 1 greedy bd regardless Lada cars of any model were truelly horrendous 30 to 35 years ago, they stopped being imported in the early 90s as they wey truelly crap good luck to the dealer when it's time for MOT time as they won't have sold it getting it through with the emissions that's 1 of the reasons these piles of turd stopped being on sale in the UK .

As someone who was a teenager in the 80s thank god my dad never bought a lada as everyone took the piss out of Ladas .

My Eastern European partner would be absolutely over the moon if I brought this home one day.

Then I'd tell her the price and she'd probably murder me in my sleep.
It wouldn’t bring back horrible memories of the dark days of communism then?

Having said that it looks great fun (not for £25k though) and people on here take themselves too seriously. Would it be still on carbs or have the ruskies discovered fuel injection yet?

I used to drive one quite regularly, a decent one too, always quite liked the idea of one. But at that price you need to be on some seriously strong medication. They only make sense if they are cheap. So many cars do the same or better for less money.

As basic as it gets and as reliable and cheap to fix as it gets.
Those slating it need to compare it to other white goods like BMW,Merc, VAG products ect, their reliability is through the floor and sometimes impossible to repair.
The Lada doesn't need any special tools to fix it either , a hammer & a few spanners will do.
It's over priced but these are good reliable tough as old boots cars..
