from this list, for me the Mclaren 720s looks the best, great picture and color.
on a budget I think I would choose the TVR Cerbera.
I do wish there was an equivalent of. a TVR Cerebra around today. The new TVR, if it ever gets made, is crap in comparison.on a budget I think I would choose the TVR Cerbera.
But an AMG GT would be my modern take. Although much heavier and less nimble.

^^^ Love that Noble, been a fan of them since they first appeared
Same. I used to see a Red one quite regularly when I used to go out drinking years ago, and I'd be stood outside the pub just gawping at it! I also got chatting to the owner of one back in 2006 at USC at Santa Pod, and I asked him if he'd swap his Noble for my Cerbera...but he wouldn't because he liked it too much!
I still lust after a Noble so much for sure.
There was a magazine article back then, either Evo or Autocar possibly, where the journo was doing a road trip down to I think France for a launch of some sports car racing. I’m a bit vague on the exact details of the article now, although I think one of the cars on show was an Elise GT1. Anyway, the M12 was brand new out of the factory, so no one really knew what it was, but the attention it got was supposedly massive, and in no way upstaged by all the flashy race cars in attendance

Money no object, the XJ220 is lovely - but it has to be an F1, doesn’t it?
Yeah, odd how the article harps on about value for money under the 'money no object' section heading, XJ220 is decent value but far from outright top.I'd probably go for the GMA T33 if I didn't care about the cash, having more classically beautiful proportions than the radical three-seat cars - I only really need one passenger seat I think anyway.
Or... the Pagani Zonda 760 LH, a spectacular lightweight supercar in my favourite colour, owned by the greatest F1 driver of the age
Dunno if it’s true, but allegedly his McL F1 is chassis #44

There's something quite amusing about a load of blokes on an internet forum arguing about what defines a supercar, given that most of them have probably never owned, and will never own, one.
Honestly, who cares? They're all interesting/nice cars. Get over it.
I never ever thought that I'd be able to afford a Supercar(I've wanted a Lamborghini almost all my life), but according to this list I already have with the Cerbera! So I definitely can't grumble! Honestly, who cares? They're all interesting/nice cars. Get over it.

I love the way they look, and the 4.0 V8 twin turbo engine excites me big time.

But for £20k (price of a new Fiesta) we can own a supercar, a Gransport
Well then, all the more reason to not care about a bizarre, meaningless definition.PHers seem obsessed with creating rules for things, be it supercars, sleepers, or whatever else. Not everything needs to be defined down to the last detail.

I think for a large part of the ph demographic the word ‘supercar’ represents a dream they’ve had since childhood, they dont want it diluted by cars that are not worthy of the moniker (in their opinion)PHers seem obsessed with creating rules for things, be it supercars, sleepers, or whatever else. Rightly i spose, they become quite defensive of the word, this is lost on some, like yourself

Yes, it must be that. It couldn't possibly anything to do with them being utter bores who could find someone to argue with in an empty room...Rightly i spose, they become quite defensive of the word, this is lost on some, like yourself
As has always been covered in this thread, there are supercars that have the engine in the front and in the middle. Some have V12s, some V8s, some V6s. Some are turbocharged, some aren't. Some are 4WD, others are RWD. There so many possible configurations that it isn't actually possible to have a set definition.

You'd be shocked if a well known estate agent started calling any detached house a mansion. its similar. its subjective, of course it is. having said this there are some choices here that are a little too borderline in my view and based on others commenting many more agree.
‘That’s not a supercar/oh yes it is’ comes up so much on here. Usually it’s a bit of fun for a little while and interesting to see different opinions before descending into silly insults and name calling as is the way of strangers on the internet.
I think it’s fair to say that most of the cars on the list are not supercars, but ‘the best used cars that might interest someone on a car forum right now from £25k’ isn’t quite as snappy.
Much like religion, people believe what they believe and it can be difficult to comprehend if your POV differs. Also like religion, I find it interesting to discuss but find that it’s best to just let people believe what they believe and not to argue or get upset about it.
I’ve had cars that I’d call supercars but others wouldn’t, some that I wouldn’t call supercars but others would and a 1996 Renault Clio that was the most super car ever.

The Clarkson video of all those years ago of a Cerbera destroying the supercars of the day cemented that car as an icon IMO. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
