Are we looking at the same cars here as that XM is far from being low, definitely not sleek and certainly not an achingly gorgeous supercar scratchchin
I guess you must have ADHD too, as you didn't get very far into the article.

I assume you walk around with a white stick and a Labrador wink

If you care to take a look at my profile and subsequently my garage you will then ascertain I have in fact been an avid BMW fan and driver for some years and have had some BMW's only people can dream of owning.

The current crop of BMW vehicles is far from tasteful IMHO.

I'm not sure how your past BMW collection or your inability to read the article means that I am blind? All I see is poor comprehension on your part. I was pointing out that if you'd read just a little more of the article, you might have seen the set-up.

Is there anyone on here who runs a motor company as successful as BMW?
They depend on sales, and as such, they are making a profit. Their shareholders are happy.
So for those who just don’t like the looks, no problems, you won’t be buying. But for those who seem to think that BMW don’t know what they doing, or even worse, think they know better, start your own business and see how you get on.

I think most understand the purpose of any business but you suggest that you have a problem with those who find this thing ugly. Which is rather strange.

Errr, there's this software called "Paint Shop Pro".
Using "Paint Shop Pro" you can have a bit of fun with pictures.

It's not exactly refined in the fine detail how it looks inside or out or how it drives is it? A nice expensive project full of expensive parts and materials but no one paid attention to sorting out the fiddly bits. Like a concept car where it's all interesting and fancy as long as you don't look too close or prod too hard.

One thing that popped out to me was the awkward position of the model badge on the back; it looks like the body just wasn't styled with any appropriate mounting surface on the back so by the time anyone realised the only place available that was vaguely suitable was offset to the middle high up between the lights. Just another thing on the list of stuff that seems more whoops than planned.

I like the illuminated grille. It would look very imposing at night and people would move out of the way as they see it in their rear view mirror.

That alone is worth buying the car for.

This makes me so sad. I cannot even be bothered to comment as I would only be repeating what everyone else is thinking.

I daily this. It is almost on 200k. I will be keeping it because despite being a diesel at least I can enjoy it's aesthetics. Inside and out.

What an offensive design and car.

Nothing says "**** the poor and the planet" more than a 2.7 tonne SUV, that is inherently inefficient, with such a garish and in your face design.

Utterly awful and devoid of any class. It screams 'look at me' and will undoubtedly be a sales success. frown

The one time you want the production version to be different to the concept and they build it almost unchanged!

Just the 3 and 5 series left to do and they'll have butchered the entire range. frown

BMW concepts are almost always basically identical to the production version.

Agree RE 3 and 5, they're still nice in my opinion.

Politicians & Regulators have led us to this. It doesn't matter who we vote for because they're all on the same bandwagon. They'll call this 2.8 tonne monster 'green'. WTF.

I do believe that thing would even look out of place in a Halfords car park!
