Disagree entirely, yes some people will buy it for the kudos of owning the 'top BMW', but I'm no bmw fan, have no affiliation with any manufacturer and just like what I like, and I have explained my reasons for liking it elsewhere in this thread. But, if its easier for people to cast holistic assertions, bash on....could it be that people simply like different things?
That's far too pragmatic - this is the facist state of PH. Everybody must conform to liking exactly the same things. If the majority say it's gopping, then it is gopping, alternative subjective views are not permitted. That doesn't mean that this isn't an oversized monstrosity. I'm all for body positivity, but this is just a bridge too far.

Saw my first (BMW) XM in Stuttgart last night. Less blingy than the press shots, particularly in black without the gold bling. Huge, but pretty unremarkable otherwise.
Only because you can't actually see it...The blue one with gold accents was at their stand at LM24 this weekend, absolutely hideous front to back. I don't think the pictures really do it justice.

Doesn't matter. Don't buy it if it's too big for your needs.
Except it is your problem if you have to park next to it, or meet it on a country lane or it crashes into you. There comes a point when something is so needlessly big it becomes selfish.

Go ahead, tell your OH she looks best when she's donning the "black pack".
I've seen a few outside BMW dealers.
I generally like BMW SUV's, have an iX and would quite happily have an X5 or X7... so I'm more disposed to liking this than most people.... but this doesn't do much for me.
I think the drivetrain has merit though and look forward to seeing it in the next M5 especially in touring form.
