But why settle for an interesting driving experience when you can get a raw experience in a Lotus Elise/Exige that are stunning as well? Interstingly, from the side, the Alfa looks alot like the Elise S2 minus the scoops to cool the engine compartment.
Why are you comparing an Alfa 8C with an Elise or Exige ?,totally different genres .

Someone looking for an 8C is not going to buy a Lotus instead .

I have seen a couple of the 8c's in both hard top version and the convertible version. The first was the hard top at an event in Michigan where it was a featured car and a first showing in the us. A member of my ALFA club in Michigan also has a hard top version. The hard top is really much prettier in my view than the convertble.f.

I was put off by the reviewers comments about the handlling which he said was so-so based on some other reviews he saw. That is when my respect left the discussion. How can anyone review a car based on what others think? The handling is easy to fix....just a different alignment and better tires....perhaps replace some of the suspension rubber bushings with uniballs or more rigid material.

As far as looks....ALFA tends to have some outstanding and timeless designs. The 8C is certainly a good one but like another poster, I think the 4C is a much more beautiful design. I have a 2015 4C Launch Edition I bought new and it has been a fabulous car and very reliable. I am a long time ALFA fan starting with a 1969 ALFA spider that was my very first car. I bought it new and kept for over 40 years, also a 1967 ALFA GTV SCCA race car that my friend and I raced for a couple of years. If I had the garage space I would still have all of them. I have owned many other brands over the years but there is something about an ALFA and its storied history that attracts me to them.

It’s originally an Aston colour, glacial blue. I’m second owner, the first one obviously had some clout, as got this one-off colour, and the model designation plate has his wife’s name instead of a number…

The colour looks good on it. Custom colours were £10k vs. £3k for the standard options. Getting a name on the plate instead of a number was a relative bargain at ‘just’ £350.

Not everything has to handle like a go kart and ride like an Evora to be a great car - la dolce vita has its attractions too!

This made me look at 4Cs on Autotrader.

My goodness, what a looker. Want.
