55 GRAND?!
£25k car + £12k exhaust apparently = £55k ????Not sure who this car is aimed at, clearly made for some of the modern 12 year olds who enjoy plastering their cars all over 'The GRAM' and getting other 12 year olds fawning over it, but then what 12 year old would have £55k to throw away on some crusty old eurobarge?
Nothing is better than a wailing NA large "V" engine, and being in an incongruous large barge is much more appealing.
I wonder when restomods will start to upgrade the transmissions too? Those old autos are so performance sapping it’s crazy. Being able to drop in a modern ZF 8HP behind the original engine would be such a massive drivability upgrade, it’s beggars why it’s not done more.
Imagine this, or an E500, for example with a modern 7G or an 8HP.

Agree it sounds kind of awesome... right up to the point the auto gearbox slurs its upchange. One of the scariest things I ever drove was an AMG S600 that had a 7.0 litre engine, built by a man who left his signature on the cam cover. While the power and torque were amazing, the alarming thing was the twitchiness caused by elastic band tyres on the rain-soaked day I drove it.

I think the engine alone can be worth a lot?btw, although its sort of art to make such car sounds like a F1-ish car, its fun for 1 minute, any longer is anti social and childish me thinks.
a waste of money to make such exhaust, although light material ala a titanium exhaust is a plus, but I would like a good V12 sound, not a F1 screamer.
Such sort engine could be nice in some oldtimer mercs, although I guess it would ruin/tear the chassis apart with all the twisting.
maybe then better used for some lightweight-ish replica street racer sportscar.
The one in the advert seems a bit pricey.

Certainly prettier, but maybe not as cool, rather more reserved and suburban than the "peak dictator" W140.If I had a W140 itch to scratch and a £60k itchin' stick I'd probably be looking at having a clean but in unspecial example and an M275 transplant, it's been done at least a few times before. Might need a brake upgrade...

Hell yeah!
Those tubular manifolds are just a work of art.
No wonder Horacio chose that engine.
The link to the FB vid shows what a hoot it is.
Allegedly the reason he stopped making Zondas is because they ran out of new engines after Mercedes stopped making these V12s, but you can still get one if you give him a donor engine and enough $$$.Those tubular manifolds are just a work of art.
