Sorry, but that's not a change; girls would always laugh at loud "normal" cars (sorry to all fans of Max Power). Are you saying said girls would have responded differently to an EV? Or would they have just ignored it rather than making fun? Is that better?

And more to the point, does your interest in cars extend beyond impressing girls?
they wouldn't have responded to an ev at all most likely, i'd rather not have be made fun of personally

my interest with cars doesn't involve impressing girls at all, it was simply an observation that I've noticed more and more people less impressed with loud cars and I've noticed myself personally feel more self concious in them. something I enjoy about my ev is being able to drive fast without drawing attention to myself

Perhaps some of us are overlooking the fact that this particular model is predominantly a marketing tool (and collectors item). The build run is 3000 (US) and 300 (Canada). One of this brand's (Dodge) greatest strengths is how they have marketed and advertised their products in the home marketplace.

The dealer premium on these will be obscene. Anyone who thinks they'll get their hands on one for $100k is smoking crack.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that because of the length of the production run, this platform is now extremely profitable and Stellantis intend to milk the Charger/Challenger for all it is worth in it's Swansong year. Demon170 is the halo for SXT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack and SRT Hellcat/Red Eye/Jail Break because that's where the margin is.

I suspect that very, very few of them will make it onto the street, let alone a drag strip.

Brilliant.

Everyone is designing ways to get electricity and batteries into mainstream cars with intricate electronics and variable all sorts. Dodge comes along with an engine that'll probably produce emissions like a battleship to put a smile on our petrol-powered faces.

If I had the money, I'd already be on the phone. I'll settle for any of these Challengers but the want for this ultimate model? 12/10. Gimme.

I know it's on drag radials and probably under very specific circumstances but there hasn't been enough noise about a sub 2 second 0-60.

Arguably worthy of that cinematic, dystopian line, "She's the last of the V8s."

While we're reminiscing about the wider Challenger range, why not a review from the UK. Here's a recent one: the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

So, you’re in your right to impose noise on those who don’t want it?

Then get yourself some earplugs mate. Have you ever considered that some may also find the noise coming from mouth offensive?

I noticed that ding too. Also getting those All Season P Zeros to hook is challenging (see what I did there?). They are pretty wooden and I fried mine as soon as practical and went for a softer, more grippy 315 section alternative.

His 0-60 times are bogus too. My 392 delivers 4 sec and 11 and change over a quarter. Again - predominantly due to tire choice.

The 60 run isn't from a standstill is it? Always thought the Americans managed these figures with a slight rolling start or am I wrong? Still hugely impressive, I'd love something like this!1

hehe

on every thread about anything there is some doink desperate to loudly spout off so that everybody knows about just how his ev is just so much better mostly because it doesnt draw attention to itself....irony-overload.

and as for choosing your car based on what you think others think is cool...

Are people actually comparing these to Tesla's roflrofl

Every fking thread that features a fast ICE car and the Tesla brigade are out in force. I think some people are on the wrong forum, it's called PISTONheads.

Sad demise of a fantastic engine. Any red blooded petrolhead will lament when engines like the Hemi are all gone.

I'd love one of these, I'd have no interest in an EV muscle car at all. Not sure what Dodge's USP will be when they get rid of those V8's tbh as then it will just be a crappy, rebodied Tesla. wink

I saw your comment just above. You come across as incredibly selfish by imposing your noise on all and sundry around you. It's people like you that give true aficionados a bad name, and it's no wonder average folks are turned off the car scene when people like you have attitudes like this to impose on others who don't want it.

Selfish. Very, very selfish.

Ahhhh mate, you're making me blush! Thank you so, so much - you have just made my week with your beautiful, kind and compassionate comments. And from a fellow biker too? Well, that is just the icing on the cake! May God above bless your soul, and may the love of Jesus Christ forever be in your heart, for you are truly an angel among men. I love you man! cloud9cloud9cloud9

Honestly it’s people like you who give enthusiasts a bad name. Whatever the thread topic if it is something remotely performance related you blunder in with your singular opinion that whatever the vehicle is you would buy a Tesla.

Nobody cares that you don’t want this car and nobody (except you) wants to have an E.V vs ICE discussion in every thread either.

I'm sorry, but I just have to step in here, as I simply cannot let you get away with this......... he CLEARLY said he was an 'aficionado', and NOT an 'enthusiast'!

I'd appreciate it if you could take more care with your language in future...... otherwise he'll get Elon's lawyers on to you!!!! biglaughbiglaughbiglaughbiglaugh
