Nah. That's a grand's worth of old banger, nothing more. I had one as a garage courtesy car once, did for a cheap runabout but hardly set the world alight. It somehow combined the heavy and ponderous handling of a large car and the interior practicality of a small one within a medium sized estate body. The older Three Series felt much lighter on its feet.
I see this sort of thing a lot on Autotrader - sellers thinking that if a mundane older car has below 50k miles then people will pay a huge premium over one with more normal mileage. Maybe they will, I dunno, but I wouldn't. It's not like it's a real box-fresh oddity with only a few hundred or even a few thousand miles on it; it's still very much a used car, and a 20+ year old not very exciting one at that.
It's in nice condition with low miles, but still.. for my money I'd give £2-3k.
But I can't think of a time when a "23 year old e46 330i SE estate" would ever be the answer to my 'what car' choices anyway, so I'm out.
If I need an estate, get a decent sized one that can fit stuff in. If I need a boot the size of a hatchback, get a hatchback.

Private sellers frequently have overinflated ideas of what their car is worth.
Of course, they might have been told by their other half that it's got to go & what we're seeing is a cunning plan in action.
'I'm sorry dear, I advertised it like you said to get rid of it but just didn't get any interest so we'll have to keep it'.

It probably is quite overpriced but there really aren't many manual E46 330i's about full stop, let alone low mileage ones so it's not the most ambitious asking price I've seen recently. I'd probably say it should sit somewhere closer to £6-8k though. I think those suggesting £2-3k might be somewhat out of touch with the market.
I did actually have a manual 330i Touring many years ago and actually found it quite disappointing. Didn't ride that well and I didn't like the 3.0 as much as the older 2.8. And the manual box is among the worst I've ever tried. It liked to rust too! I'd far rather have a good E36 but E46's like this do seem to be getting a bit of a following now.

Pov spec as well, beyond being an SE it's also got cloth seats, halogen lights etc. I wouldn't go as low as £1k, I think it's definitely worth more than that - I'd probably say £5k? If it was a nicely specified coupe with that mileage in Sport format, it would be getting to £6-7k these days?

Worth more than that, never in a million years is it worth £11k but I would say around £3k / £4kwpa1975 said:

Personally, I think with it being an earlier pre-LCI in a basic SE spec with grey cloth, plastic wood and halogens, it’s perhaps worth half of the asking price.
If it was a facelift Sport in a better colour with leather, maybe it would be worth closer to the advertised price.

I saw a MK1 Focus on a forecourt for £7,995 recently. It wasn't an ST or RS, it was that sky blue metallic that was so prevalent it must have been the zero cost option paint, so hardly rare.
I did a double take as I thought I'd added a digit in my head but no, £8k. Just checked their website to see if I could share it but it's not on there now, maybe someone beat them down to £7,950
