An epidemic of insanely slow drivers
Discussion
Now the weather has changed it's got even worse an indicated 24 in a 40mph, 35 in a 60mph, a total inability to be ready when the lights change and yet they still mange to crash (all low speed of course) passed two of these bumps this week, cars just left blocking, road cameras videoing everything like it was a film shoot...I despair.
The impact on the countries productivity must be enormous.

Out from the supermarket at 8:30 this morning, I arrived at a double mini roundabout at the end of our high street. ( To be fair, it's a bloody nightmare to negotiate, and the 'give way to the right rule has to be binned to make progress ). The car in front negotiated the first mini roundabout successfully but failed the second, failing to indicate a left turn. Then failed to spot the large 4X4 at the next traffic lights, who had got into the wrong lane, so had stuck their left indicator on. Sure enough, as the lights went green, they cut across the car in front, who had to perform a quick min iswerve left to miss them. Further down the road, brakes were applied approaching a pedestrian crossing, not required, as there wasn't a pedestrian in sight anywhere. Then a late indicator left into a housing estate (20mph limit), same direction as me. Braked constantly for mini bends, but forgot the speed limit and drove at 25mph ( to be honest, everyone ignores it ). Didn't leave room for a cyclist at a T junction, as well as indicating right when road markings clearly showed they were on the primary route. Not good driving at all. Opps, nearly forgot. They were displaying a driving instructor board on the car roof !!!
Presumably the learner was driving?The0perator said:

18 in a 40. It actually dropped to 15 momentarily after this.

Behind this weirdo. Yeah, no idea either.

This is on a road that I traverse daily, and there is almost always some absolute dickwad doing 26 or 27mph
Presumably, the driver is the equivalent of a Walt but not driving an old Discovery in a high viz jacket, not that they are notably slow, but they are self important. Behind this weirdo. Yeah, no idea either.

"Please keep a safe distance".
Sure. I'll keep a safe distance in front of you given half a chance.

I imagine that the driver knows they can't make it through the lights while they are currently showing green, so is slowing to get a favourable light sequence with minimum momentum lost.Lester H said:

any vehicle with those self applied (rather than some fleet ones or bin lorries for example that may have them) will be driven appallingly.
i have just bought a modestly expensive new fun car. it is fitted with all manner of warnings and safety devices that cannot be turned off. some of the audio can, but not the dash warning and the drive you into a wall settings cannot either. to add it has ACC only not cc, and the sign recognition is laughable. for such a price you think it wouldn't be so crap.
its a nightmare. acc is horrific, a smidge of rain and the sensors don't work so its unavailable, but when it it is 'working' the close setting to the car in front is far more than HC recommends and thus it causes phantom braking too far back, and the need to pull over way to far in advance wasting road space if one wants to keep the acc on and not have it brake, not to mention changing lanes can set its off often despite indication, going round bends. frankly its a distraction and dangerous imo.
the multitude of warnings and driver safety aids on some new cars actually make things more dangerous and this must go someway to explaining the state of and speed of driving for some people these days.
im becoming familiarized with these after a week ot so, but in the last week before my driving would have been deemed erratic/odd/needlessly slow/phantom braking etc.

swerved into the opposite lane to block it. Not quite so bothered about safe driving as they liked to make out then. It was pretty much the only time I've ever wished I had a dashcam of my own as dobbing the self-important cretin in would have been sweet indeed.The0perator said:
