Saturday's car a moral 2 with the correct name it was marketed as, rather than Cardle's version.

I was feeling rather smug at getting the make and model from the subtle bodywork clues in crop 2, until I came on here this morning and found out about the BIG clue in crop 1.

Make & model in a moral one, though I didn’t get the punctuation or specific model detail to Cardle’s liking.

An actual fail again. I got the make in one and the model in a moral two - but I used the name it was marketed as rather than the answer Cardle wanted.

Same as EmmaJNation - All of my guesses were on the money, shame about the clue, but I didn't get the specific answer Cardle wanted.

I've at least learnt of the internal model code and how they got their nickname.

Make in one but failed on the model, could only think of the siblings.

Make only, in one.
But only because it's on the windscreen.

Correct car in 2. Buggered if I'm going to argue with Cardle over punctuation and capital letter.

fk off Cardle. Make and model in one. Make, model and unnecessary extra bit in two.
The "unnecessary bit" is actually essential. Hornet "Specials" were a separate model, not just any old Hornet with a special body. Info from Wolseley Register web page.
Indeed they were but Cardle's car isn't a "Hornet Special", it's either a "Hornet" special, or a highly modified "Hornet Special".
Here's a standard Wolseley Hornet Special (from the Wolseley Register web page) for comparison:-

Agreed, because Cardle is wrong (again)!

As usual the fault is with the original filename.

Marque in one given the clue. No idea on the model.

But as the owners of Cardle are apparently car parts specialists, you'd think they'd check before blindly doing a 'cut & paste'

Or maybe not......

And here is today's culprit which, despite what Cardle says, is a Wolseley 18/85

Another Triumph or Wolseley tomorrow? Or some other car that hardly anyone has heard of?

Regardless it will not stop some here from getting an actual or a 'moral' in one. biggrin

On the odd occasion that I get a 1, I feel obliged to explain what USP I spotted or to admit it was a pure lucky guess, like the Austin 1100 which could have been any one of a host of BMC badge-engineered variants and engine sizes. angel

Sunday's car - a miserable fail. Even a blurred glimpse of a badge was no help. I was thinking of something more like a Talbot. Not my area of expertise.

At least we seem to have broken away from the run of repeats that we've had recently.
