What car would you take to a war zone?

I’m off on my next trip to Ukraine and I need a car that will not only get me through Europe but also to the east of Ukraine and then repeat that about 5 times, without a great likelihood of leaving me stuck in the middle of nowhere
Ok, not planning on driving it over a field of land mines but do need something reliable that I can stick large amounts of aid in and the occasional soldier needing evacuation or volunteers needing relocation. I also work around the country, teaching rehab to new therapists and treating soldiers who’ve been blown up and lost limbs so need to get about in a pretty shifty fashion (Lviv-Kyiv-Kharkiv-Krematorsk-Dnipro-repeat)
My major limitation is that my regular Ukraine trips have meant that I’m living on a shoe string budget so I appreciate that I’m asking a lot but I have to be realistic
I also need something that may take a bullet of 5 without carking out as I may have to donate it to the battalion I support (24 th) so a decent engine block is a good idea

Toyota Estima 2.4
Toyota - reliable and known in Ukraine thus serviceable.
Estima - tall cabin with sliding doors both sides, so easy to get people in and out including with limited mobility. Very capacious - almost van sized, but drives like a car. Auto box. Comfortable for long trips.
Japanese imports so likely good condition for age.
Available from £5k or so.
You don't mention off-road capability but it's nothing special in that regard, although there are a few e-Four models around with 4WD.

A decent Land Cruiser isn't going to be cheap.
The above suggestion of a Skoda Octavia Estate is a good shout. I'd be looking at a Mitsubishi Outlander or Nissan X-trail. Both can be had for a few grand, are reliable, spacious, comfortable and plenty of spares availability in Eastern Europe

Off Road usually means kablooie so I’ll stick to the bomb pitted roads……Toyota - reliable and known in Ukraine thus serviceable.

I would say the Skoda Yeti 4x4 could be a good option

Fill the tyres with slime and make sure it's a 4x4 estate with some good ground clearance like volvo cross country or audi allroad, diesel will be easier to source in the east of UKR. Roof rack and covered trailer for serious cargo, and 2 spare wheels.
Vehicle that that should do the trips safely enough towing well on the motorways, and will be very useful to anyone out there when you donate it.
