Toyota pretty much wiped them out. It's really only pickup trucks now because of the tax breaks.

Looks like a reasonable proposition for shed money. Interior looks ok, not to much to worry about in reliability terms and a 6 pot engine. All for sub 2 grand.

"Cadillac’s brave new challenger for the BMW 5 Series. They didn’t quite win that challenge"

Understatement of the century.

Awful in every way. No ta.
Is it every PH-er's hope that no manufacturer ever comes along to challenge the accepted norm and that, eventually, we all end up driving the same 5-Series because nobody can offer anything that competes? A bit like survival of the fittest?

I reckon this looks good for the money - it's different, and as another poster has said, any parts not available off the shelf here can be sent from 'Murica in days.

This really appeals to my daring and different for the sake of it side, that the reality is I can't afford to run something like this is a shame as otherwise this would be right up my street. Iirc it was reasonably well reviewed, so whilst not a class leader it was still pretty good to drive.
I'll stick with my small engined cheap to run city cars.

Definitely one to flush.
that interior looks much the same quality as the Cavalier featured.
No wonder when the US car industry was finally exposed to foreign competition, it collapsed.

For two grand it's not a bad motor.
Decent power, bit of exclusivity. No it's not going to handle like anything from Renault Sport, but as a daily motorway mile muncher I bet it's a decent place to be.

Have a friend with one in the US. Totally forgettable experience but has run and run for years through all the extreme mid-West winters. They feel odd to be in, just like being in an old Vauxhall/Opel. It's a strange feeling, if not unsurprising.

Epic shed! The rarity has appeal, it looks ok and there's a frisson of risk re parts.
I'm in agreement with this. I'm not sure what other people expect to be finding at shed money these days but I like this for the fact you're unlikely to see another and it will probably do a good job ... with the added excitement that it might just die!

Rear lights are bloody awful too. What were they thinking?
Just about pips the same vintage 5 series for that title. Dame Edna or Roy Orbison take your pick.

Interior is horrific. I thought it was an issue with the camera at first.

One of the worst cars I've ever driven!

Rented one for two weeks in Florida. Despite having a 6 cylinder engine it was utterly gutless and the crappy auto box was incredibly slow to do anything at all, even engage reverse. Handled badly, stopped badly. AC worked well though hehe

I had a company card Vectra diesel at the time which was a significantly better steer!

Yeaaah very sheddy ... but just the V6 one you'll always be wishing its the V8.

They aren't lookers and time hasn't been kind either. Pass from me.

Is that centre console supposed to be skewed like that, or is it just the pic?
Yeah it's "angled" like the BMW ones are/used to be but it does look wonky.

If ever an automotive brand has lost its way, it has to be Cadillac. They used to advertise as “the Standard of the World” and produce some really awesome luxury cars. Pre-war they had V12 and V16 models. Post-war the iconic Eldorado peaking with those 1959 fins. It has been down hill all the way since the end of the 1960s. I can’t see a vanity dabble at the back end of the F1 grid doing much to help.

Here’s today’s fayre. Find your icon indeed!

Terrible, isn't it. I wonder if the CTS was not intended to be RHD, and that bodge was the result?

Aah, Phoenix Nights... Much loved, needs revisiting. Must dig out the VHS box set & plug the Scart lead back into the telly. If that's still possible.

Well said, Sir. CTS was a very decent car.

No worse than many a mid range saloon to look at and at £2k it's different enough to get people wondering what it is, should be easy enough to run for a couple of years. Interior is very underwhelming. Oh and it's black so not for me thanks.

Looks identical to my BLS but the colour, as a Saab lover I love my Caddy. This CTS looks well for the age , I'd still have my BLS over this car.
